Cool build. I probably wouldn't take the fighter levels just because infinite magic missiles is too good to pass up, especially when you already have armor and Con based proficiency. I know it doesn't matter much but if you had put you +1 into Dex instead of wisdom, you could have an 11 wisdom. You could then take Fey Touched Gift of Alacrity to boost your initiative and Wis instead of Alert.

Totally viable. Spell mastery only lets you cast magic missile at 1st level (25.5 to 43.5 damage). Idk if that’s better then action surge, but it’s def worth considering. What are you doing with the 15 dex?

Infinite Level 1 Magic Missiles is nowhere near good enough to replace the fighter levels, imo. The only benefit of infinite Magic missiles is that you would think it would make you better at sustained damage.... except it doesn't even do that. Remember that Hexblade's curse only applies to ONE target for ONE combat per short rest. This means that your infinite Magic Missiles will really just be dealing ~25 damage a round... at 19th or 20th level. That's insanely weak. In comparison, 2 fighter levels give you: - Heavy Armor Proficiency (At least 18 AC) - Proficiency with Shields (At least +2 AC) - Con Save Proficiency for any Concentration checks. - Proficiency with just about every weapon, if it ever happens to come up - Action Surge to cast an 8th Level Spell followed by a 9th Level Spell on the same turn. - A decent health bump in the early levels compared to Wizard's d6 Hit Dice. If you go 18th level wizard, it's much better to pick up Shield or Silvery Barbs to cast infinitely. Magic Missile as your Spell Mastery option is just underwhelming.

Hey, great video, but wouldn't picking goblin as your race make it even more nuclear? The Fury of the Mall ability states "When you damage a creature with an attack or a spell and the creature's size is larger than yours, you can cause the attack or spell to deal extra damage to the creature. The extra damage equals your level." So if I'm interpreting this right you would add it to each dart, as it's only one D4 multiplied by 3, assuming a level 11 wizard does this and isn't upcasting Magic Missile it would be a 33 flat damage increase. It also scales well with upcasting, a flat 11 points of damage for each slot level + the other bonuses is not bad at all

It's the hexblade's curse adding a proficiency bonus to a form of damage which may not otherwise be affected by a proficiency bonus. What if your warlock/fighter hits something? In this situation, I'd say that the strength bonus applies as normal and that the warlock's charisma bonus was also added. Someone else might rule differently - but, then again, when find familiar says that "A familiar can't attack, but it can take other actions as normal" I'd include blasting enemies with firey breath in actions that don't fit. I'm confused as to how Hexblades Curse and Empowered Evocation adds to every dart when it says specifically: "gain a bonus to damage rolls" and "you add INT to one damage roll". You then go on to say you only roll for once for magic missile. So with one roll you add EE one time, to the total, not for each and every dart. The calculation for level 17 with a 9th level slot should be: 1d4+1x11 then + 6(HC) + 5(EE) to the result.
@cmccbuilds8229
Жыл бұрын
It’s explained in the video. If you have 3 darts you add the bonuses to the ONE dart damage roll and that damage is multiplied by the number of darts. Your final paragraph is the incorrect math. You’re adding to the total not the individual dart damage.
@senrith_
Жыл бұрын
You wouldn't add +6 and +5 to each and every single d6 in a fireball. It's added to "one damage roll". So for Magic Missile against a single creature, you roll one 4 sided dice+1, times by the number of darts. Then add the HC and EE. This calculation also seems way more balanced. Against multiple targets you would only be able to use HC against one of those targets but EE would add to each creature you hit so I can see a good use for Magic Missile in those cases but this doesn't make any sense against a single creature.
