After opening to considerable acclaim in the National Theatre's small Dorfman Theatre, The Ocean At The End Of The Lane has arrived at the Noel Coward Theatre in London's West End, and triumphs in the larger space. Paul Seven Lewis explains why it's a must-see that transcends the fantasy genre and the theatrical spectacular.
Neil Gaiman's novel about childhood, memory and storytelling is adapted by Joel Horwood and stars Keir Ogilvy, Millie Hikasa, Finty Williams, Kemi-Bo Jacobs, Charlie Brooks, Trevor Fox and Laurie Ogden. The extraordinary creative team comprise director Katy Rudd, set designer Fly Davis, Puppet designer Samuel Wyer, Lighting designer Paule Constable, and Magic and illusions designer Jamies Harrison.
The Ocean At The End Of The Lane ran at the Noel Coward until 25 November 2023.
