The Bioblitz Dance (Bioblitz Centennial Dance) is a celebration of the outdoors, human diversity and biodiversity, and national parks. It was created for National Geographic's Bioblitz Event, but should be done outside and often.
We challenge you to do the Bioblitz Dance! Make your own Bioblitz Dance video (outdoors) and don't forget to tag us. The Bioblitz Dance is a celebration of the outdoors and was created to honor the centennial anniversary of the USA's National Park Service. The Bioblitz Dance has one rule: It must be done outdoors! We would love to see your Bioblitz Dance video! Any group, club, school, collection of NPS employees, individuals, or park visitors can respond to a Bioblitz Dance Challenge. Here’s how you do it:
1. Record you and/or your group doing the Bioblitz Dance in a place where it’s obvious that you are in one of the “called out” National Parks (or watersheds in a Water Keeper's case). (You can do the dance to any song that you want: many groups, including our YCC interns have used DJ Snake’s “Bird Machine”). Be sure that you do the three core moves: the black bear, the turkey vulture, and the ground squirrel or it is not the Bioblitz Dance.
2. Upload your video to KZitem and along with the words “Bioblitz Dance” and include the name of the challenged park or group that you’re repping in the title.
3. Then make your own Find-Your-Park Bioblitz Dance Challenge. Call out at least one other National and/or State Park. (If you do not live near a State or National Park, we would still love to see your Bioblitz Dance video response. Just make sure you obey the one rule: to do it outdoors. And include the words “The Bioblitz Dance” in the title of your video, so we can find it).
