The footage in this production was taken over the course of four years: 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Known for its consistently enormous, manual yard waste setouts, a whole group of trucks from the EDI / EDCO yard in Escondido is used exclusively for the purpose of completing routes that are not part of city limits. Technically, every day of the week when trucks do normal city routes, there are other trucks at the same time working on routes in the "county" which is always rural. Monday and Tuesday are days when the routes focus on areas in and around the city limits of Escondido. But on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and possibly Friday, OTHER trucks are also going to regions further away from Escondido such as Valley Center, Bonsall, Twin Oaks, Hidden Meadows, San Pasqual Valley, Lake Wohlford, and Pauma Valley.
As you watch this video, keep in mind all those other places the "county" trucks visit throughout the week, and then think that this video ONLY shows trucks working the Monday route. In other words, multiply this video by five or ten, to better understand all the work it takes to complete the numerous routes that don't even include routes within Escondido's city limits. There is a reason why Escondido has its own fleet of trucks and isn't covered by the large fleet in next-door San Marcos.
Enjoy the footage!! It took numerous bike-rides, energy, time, patience, yeah, to put together. So a worthy comment is suitable. Many of you don't know what that means yet...
