I bought a 1970 Triumph Trophy in 1978, and rode It around Australia -- It went through "Many" changes over the years, and sadly became just parts in boxes until Now
Strauss, Rossini, and the absolute best restoration video I’ve ever seen! You have skills!! Bravo!!

I bought a bunch of Triumph stuff about 20 years ago, one complete bike and 3 basket cases and a lot of misc. I've put two of the basket cases together and am working on the third. Great video and great music 👍👍

Simply amazing video that made me watch it from start till the very end. Well done restoration and final editing. I still own a bit older one, 6T from 1961 (bathtub D15625) in great shape with absolutely good running engine). I am very glad for it survived all the life troubles and didn't get sold. You should be very proud having such the beauty restored.

Great video, apart from the really good music and video continuity which I'm sure took a lot of effort. you are also obviously a talented Triumph enthusiast with lots of skills. I am building two complete Triumphs and a 3rd display engine at the moment and I picked up a few handy tips...thank you.

Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed both of the vids. Mind you, I'm still confused about what year model this is! 10 stud head but conical rear wheel attached to a pre-71 dry frame with a disc brake front end off a later model, 750 Tiger head? Looking again I think that frame and slimline tank are 69? Really nice work and the bike sounds great! Thanks again for posting.

It started life as a 1970 TR6R (Trophy), The front half of the frame is now off a 68 model - The front end and rear wheel hub is T140 and it's a 750 top end on the 650 bottom end (Tiger Head)

Hi Sean. If you are related to Billy Plunkett of Penrith you'd know a bit about Triumphs! I have a 650 manual with your name in it! Call Phil 0432 886425.

Almost as fun as riding! What lovely satisfying feeling of putting together something as beautiful and fun for yourself. You did a sweet job of it! You had this bike for as long as I've been alive! would love to hear about your big ride around Australia! 10 bolt is a 750 head. Did you upgrade now, or was it a 750 as new? 70 model year suggest 650, but 10 bolt head suggest 750.

Hello Groggyman! I was wondering how you cleaned the cases? Any sanding involved. Looks like you did it by hand and I was impressed with the results. Also did you do anything to prevent future stains. Thanks in advance. Great work and video.

That was just a touch up, the crankcases were sanded down with wet and dry paper then polished in around 1980 (Quite a big job), But it holds up Really Well, Just a rub with Autosol now and then keeps them nice and shiny

@@groggyman3718 I just started on mine(1966 t120r) with a brass wire wheel but I think I'm going to have to sand them because of too many imperfections. Just don't want to ruin them. I guess its summer where you are. Here on Long Island N.Y. it's dead winter just around freezing. I still ride. You still have that beautiful bike?

Once you do it, there is no going back to the "original" rough surface - I started with Course wet and dry and gradually worked down to Fine - I'm not sure but I think kerosene worked better than water - It certainly takes Time !! - And yes, I still ride It

@@groggyman3718 just a thought but I bet you could get close to the original rough surface with a needle gun and the right size needles. Risky I know. Thanks for the info and good luck to you.
