If you haven't been, go to Number 6 Cavendish. I'm from the states and went to London for the first time this summer with my family. Going to cigar shops was a priority for me on the trip. By far and away, Number 6 was the best shop. I went to. They had a main humidor with every Cuban imaginable. Additionally, they took me into a separate humidor that has hundreds of vintage cigars. That's not normally available for the public but the employees appreciated my love and knowledge of Cubans. I've never seen anything like it.

Great to hear Hamlet's name- smoked a stick with him and Robaina (RIP) at the opening of the RyJ lounge in Havana in 2002.

Hate it when people start fingering through cigars with or without the intention of purchasing them, you wouldn’t start rooting around through food items in a supermarket, would defo put me off buying, the only person to touch the merchandise should be the staff

He didn’t even touch a single cigar? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with handling a cigar and there’s valid reasons to do so

@@NorfTec as customer looking at buying a cigar I would not buy one that had been handled by Joe Public (have you washed your hands) I would pick a different one, looking at buying a £10,000 box of cigars I would hate to think that people have been stroking it, slapping it or removing packaging, I would expect that the only person allowed to touch a very rare and expensive box of cigars would be a professional with gloves on

@@Bigdog-mg5rr you’re going to be thrilled to learn cigars go through hundreds of processes all of which are by hand, rare and special cigars aren’t normally accessible to ‘Joe public’ anyway so that’s not really a problem, regular production sticks are handled by importers, distributors, shops and customers, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference

@@NorfTec I’m fine with the professional’s who make and sell the cigars touching them, I myself would not buy a cigar that’s been handled by a random punter, I’m sure a staff member is better at selecting a very good smokable cigar for me, there’s also the possibility of Covid, etc being passed on, and like fruit, etc that is also handled by people before purchase a cigar has a life expectancy, after being handled by numerous cigar aficionados the wrapper will crack and deteriorate, also unclean hands my leave stains etc, cigars in store should only be handled by staff, preferably gloved if cigars are of the more expensive variety
