Cieplice is now a health resort part of the city of Jelenia Góra in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland. From the end of the Second World War to 1976, the town functioned as an independent town of Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój. The history of Cieplice dates back to the 13th century, and from the 14th century - until the end of World War II, it was owned by the Schaffgotsch family. This is also where their headquarters was located after the Chojnik castle burnt down in the 17th century. Their palace, now a branch of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology on Piastowski Square, has survived to our times.

At the back of the church there is a very interesting Natural History Museum. The museum presents permanent exhibitions "The colorful world of birds" and "Butterflies of the Karkonosze and the world", as well as temporary exhibitions. Its collection includes over 6,600 specimens of birds, bird eggs, mammals, horns, butterflies, shells, cross-sections of trees, plaster models of mushrooms, minerals and butterflies. A significant part of the exhibits comes from the collection of the Schaffgotsch family.

Next to the Schaffgotsch manor, the route of our walk enters the Spa Park, established in 1819 on the site of the palace garden. In the years 2010-2012, the Spa Park was revitalized, restoring its former appearance. There are also: the "Edward" spa pavilion, the Spa Theatre, a band shell, many fountains and a monument of martyrdom and the glory of the Polish army stylized as two Grunwald swords.

From the Spa Park we go to the quiet Norwegian Park. The park was established at the beginning of The founder was Eugen Füllner, an industrialist and owner of a paper machine factory. The name comes from a pavilion built on the model of one of the restaurants in Oslo. Near the Norwegian Pavilion, the view of the pond in the middle of which the water of the fountain gushes high is pleasing to the eye. Decorative ornaments of the "Norwegian Pavilion", crowning the tops of the roofs, the so-called "dragon heads" and lace over the ridges refer to Scandinavian folk architecture. In the years 1986-2013, it housed the Natural History Museum. The pavilion was opened on July 18, 1909.
