Toyotas primary market for these is primary producers, desert missions, middle east etc. not fanyboys with dongs up their backside painting their nails precious colours.

I love a land cruiser, don't get me wrong, I drive a V8, and I love putting mods on it, but yes, it is way to expensive. But the same is true for most vehicles, if not all. Vehichle prices have sky rocketed in the last 4 years or so.

I’d pay to keep this simplicity alive. Less things to go wrong, like locking keys in the car out in the bush… love how they have a basic option…👍 a bit more comfortable seats, especially for back row in 5 seat troop carrier would be nice…

I'm OK as long as it's got A/C for when it's unbearably hot and humid. Central locking can be provided by an alarm system. I'm actually surprised it's an automatic, prefer a manual myself but it's not a deal breaker.

I thought it only borrowed design cues but kept mod cons. That price is criminal without those inclusions we take for granted now. Wouldn’t have killed them to include auto windows and central locking but with the old style looks.

I’m paying that same price for power windows, door locks, A/C single cab. Old 4.2 inline six engine (HZJ79). Where I live we still have Euro3 diesel, and I am 45-days late for turbo V8, they just got discontinued here 😢.

Like the manual parts except for that awful auto gearbox🤢. I would prefer manual gearbox anyday with solid axles. More reliability. Also the 2.8 did not impress me at all. Somewhere along the way something went wrong, it has became a status item and not a workhorse anymore.

Buy Mahindra for the farm, this is an overrated deal from Toyota. How long you want a reliability now a days after the warranty? Does your children and their children are going to use it after you retire? This is a crap, atleast provide some basic necessary luxuries in this fast paced farming world. No one wants to manually lock the car nowadays.

I’d rather have a key than a fob when it’s a work vehicle with potentially many different drivers. Window winders are ok. 4 cylinder version is better from a running costs point of view and in my opinion is a better fit for the Landcruiser than the V8 because it is a simpler design.

20k extra for a downgraded hilux…. I don’t think so! They downsized the engine yet still didn’t think to align the front and rear wheels. You get to skip back and forth down the beach, yet less power to push your piece of poo through the sand.

It is incomprehensible that another auto manufacturer has not jumped on this gravy train, for example, Landrover if it is possible for them to produce a product which is reliable, Toyota is laughing all the way to the bank, I'm sure they go out the back at the showrooms and piss themselves laughing at another sucker just came in and paid 80 grand for a auto that's worth 25 grand, big bonus for salesmen eh, the LR Defender is too complicated, to plush, too expensive and no Terrorist or Army, would buy them even for 1/4 the price.

yes it is too expensive. even at $50k usd, there is no reason for it to cost this much... besides the low market for these vehicles, which means its more expensive because you're making less of them. isnt it funny how that works. i'd just get an old land cruiser if i want an old land cruiser. $50k is way too much for a car with the same car feature set that you could find in a junk yard lot.
