Another option can be "rotating" your plants in a different sense - have a couple of spots in your house where they display nicely though the light is not ideal, and cycle your trellised plants so they spend a couple days a week on display, and the rest of the week in better light (while a different plant is on display). As a bonus, you get different plants "featured" in your display spots from day to day which makes things a bit more interesting. Also, it allows you to display plants in places with bad lighting, since they'll get more light for the rest of the week (and makes use of 'display' spots that you weren't already using for plants anyway, due to the low light). Finally, the additional time you spend moving plants around makes you more likely to notice issues, pests, et c. Best to check that the plant isn't too sensitive, though - some may not like to be moved, and as they get bigger and bigger, moving them twice a week might be less feasible.

I rotate plants for display regularly as I have a great display spot in my living room but the light is quite low. I don't want to put a grow light there as I have another light fixture that provides mood lighting I love. I've found that as long as the substrate is not sopping wet most of my plants do fine. Of course they don't grow but seem to be happy just to snooze in the shelving unit for a week or two. Jades, pothos, sansevierias, small philodendrons, agleonemas, zz, (some) peperomias & hoyas, various succulents, all have done fine! I don't water them, they spend a week or two on display where I enjoy them daily and then go back to their usual spot. I probably wouldn't do that with my divas, calatheas, anthuriums, etc, though! 😂

They didn't ask to come to your place, it was you who decided to kidnap them from the warm greenhouses and cozy growlights 😁so, you care! ..and you make them happy first so they can make you happy, if that means putting them out the window (as you might not be just as bright😉), so be it... half my monstera sticks out behind the curtains and enjoys south window, but I always can turn them around for a while and boy do they shine ❤ thanks for the vid, your Adansonii is terrific ❤

I have been using Treleaf supports and love them. I made some mistakes in the beginning by threading some leaves through the holds in the Treleaf. Sorry! I have a Florida Philodendren which grows side to side which I do rotate. It is quite tall now and looks beautiful. I can see that you have to choose which Treleaf support, to accommodate each particular type of plant. Thanks for answering my question about which way to face the plant if it is growing on a Treleaf support. I turn them around when company comes, or to treat myself occasionally to their beauty. One question I do have is this. I have 75 plants. I love the bottom watering and they are thriving. I put a large plastic tub in my sink and bottom water a few at a time. Often I am watering at night. Question: Is it OK to leave some overnight in the water, and sometimes with a light, liquid fertilizer in the water? I have been doing this for several months, and they all seem to thrive. But I wanted to check with you. Thanks for any help. Nancy Marano. USA - New Jersey

the most one mistake i ll regret is coming from sydney plant guy, the way of taking a cutting. and its mindblowing if you think about it. if you take a fresh cut and put it in water, you kind of revert it back to a new small plant. but if you air layer the plant first and make the cutting root before you cut it while its still attached to the plant, it ll get supported by the entire plant below meanwhile putting out more growth and then you prune and you have a full established plant as a cutting because it already has a root system. its like you re cutting established plants out of your plant. why cutting first and then letting it root if you can just do it the other way around. it really made me question myself why i was doing it like this because at least on aroids, taking a cutting and then place it in water makes zero sense. air layering first is just so much better

Thanks I need to experiment with that. Sounds like extra work but worth a go

@@SheffieldMadePlants its really not, you just take...any type of container, some plastic drinking cup or jogurt cup, cut it open on one side and put a hole in the bottom so you can put it over a plant stem node. but anything will do, you just somehow have to make sure some moist moss can stick to the stem. you could prob. even wick a moist paper towel around the node. just make it root before you cut it

No. That doesn’t work if you don't have high humidity in the pole . My marble queen ataches to nothing so I am just trying spraying like a maniac with my coir pole...because they don't hold much humidity
