I'm pretty sure that if you're a non-native speaker living in your home country and get CELTA certification in your country with the aim of working in some region of your nation, the most likely is you won't have any problem to get a job there, quite the opposite, getting CELTA can become a passport to many good job opportunities IN your country

Yes, no doubt it will help a lot. The main point in the video is really for people to do research about their specific circumstances as everyone's will be unique. I think the key for non-native speakers (irrespective of where they want to work) is experience. Having expectations based on job adverts (i.e. relevant evidence) should help people to make more informed decisions about the CELTA or other teaching courses.

After watching your video I've been really thinking of giving up education, mainly in my country Brazil. Is it worthy getting certificates such as CELTA,DELTA or TSOL?Being brazilian is difficult, being a non-native is the same. The video is excellent but got me down.

Hi Sandro. I know the video is a little bit of a hard listen but I am constantly getting asked about jobs by people who have done the course without checking things in advance. That said, it doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. It means people need to be aware that it isn't a walk in the park, particularly for non-native speakers. On the flip side, online teaching through courses and similar is full of opportunities and I'm thinking of doing more on that. Let me know if you'd like to hear more about that 👍👍

With all due respect I'm pretty sure this guy intentionally mixes the time spent on a qualification with the level of the qualification. University grade in teaching isn't all about teaching - there is a ton of general subjects, pass along ones, which take time but give you nothing useful for teaching practice. While celta is a concentrated teaching experience for people who already have a qualification in Teaching and English. Shortly speaking it's practically the same grade but without additional blah-blah. If people with a degree were such high skilled professionals, schools would be heaven (which they are sadly aren't). What I'm saying is that the guy seems highly prejudiced towards non-native speakers and plays this "you could try, however..." ticket to plant seeds of doubt in your head.

Of course you can!I'm all ears.I've only exposed my point of view.It doesn't mean I'll stop studying or I've given up getting the cerificates.I've been teaching for years, invested money buying books and courses to brush up in the area.It was just a comment.
