Also I think people are too comfortable with e files altogether. Although we shouldn’t be afraid of using them we can’t forget that those are powerful machines that can easily cause irreversible damage I do my own nails in the Russian manicure style and I only use the file to clean out my cuticles and take off old product, everything else is easier and safer with basic files, usually of 180 grit

Hi! Dental technician here! We use diamond bits on Zirconia and porcelain (veneers, crowns, bridges, implants etc.)! It goes through like butter without creating so much heat the material cracks, just imagine what those same drills can do to a fingernail if your speed is a little too high, you press a little too hard or you stay on the same spot for over half a second! 💀 Be careful guys!!

It’s because another thing is that people don’t understand that you should be using low RPMs and also you’re not supposed to actually sand the nail plate. It’s supposed to be a light feather touch simply to remove the dead skin. She was really grinding into her nail plate holy crap. It’s definitely fixable though!
@THEDOORIZCLOSED

Exactly. U can buff it but not file the hell out of it smh
@april29th94

Actually, slow rpms will be less effective and lead to the user applying pressure on the nail. Working with a high speed helps to remove dead skin or product faster and avoid doing too many passes on the same spots. I would love for people to understand that although youtube tutorials make things look easy peasy, nails tech do train extensively to master such a dangerous machine. Be careful while using it 🙏🏽

@@april29th94 every professional recommends low RPMs 5000-10000. Sorry to tell you, but you are completely wrong. The reason why you are wrong is because to remove dead skin, a lot of force is not needed. Literally the lightest touch and low RPMs with a diamond bit will easily and quickly buff dead skin off the nail. I don’t even use 10,000 RPMs unless working with very dry callous cuticle areas. Now, when removing product, shaping and debulking yes, high RPMs are recommended because it will stop the drill from skipping and will make for a smoother glide across the nail. I normally use anywhere from 20,000 RPMs to 25,000 RPMs. However, high RPMs is only needed because you are working on product not the natural nail. A lot more force is needed. Using high RPMs above 10,000 RPMs for a Russian manicure while also probably applying a lot of pressure to the nail plate rather than focusing on removing the dead skin cells on the surface of the nail plate is exactly why her nail bed looks like a skate park. I’m just saying.

@@ashlaraque4135you’re correct and I’m glad you specified because I guess people don’t know that. I don’t think April is disagreeing with you tho, I was under the impression that she was talking about removing/shaping product, because a slow speed can cause you to press more to grind and change the angle and the material that you’re actually shaving away (to your own nail). Can’t speak for her officially but as that’s the general rule of thumb for e-file usage and a common beginner mistake with any added product, I think that’s what she was trying to say. But adding your response helps so much because there will be people who come to this comment with absolutely zero understanding and experience with e-files.

I don't understand why people are after removing their cuticles. Your cuticles are important and form a seal between your nail and the skin adjacent to it to protect you from infection. By cutting them, you are leaving your body vulnerable to potential harmful bacteria or fungi that could cause serious problems like infections. Please don't normalise this. It's there on our nails for saving us from infections.
@cececox6399
Ай бұрын
@beanmoo sweetie this is NORMAL and the most basic part of doing nails. ANYWHERE that doesn't do this is absolutely TRASH and ripping you off. They know that they won't last as long and that they're more likely to break and get knocked off which means you'll be coming back much more often. If they DON'T prep your nails like this WALK OUT IMMEDIATELY! Also don't pay upfront. That way if they do anything stupid like not prepping your nails you can easily get up and walk away before they ruin your nails and steal your money. I also absolutely will NOT allow them to EVER used the electric files in my nails. The first time I did they filed my nails so thin that they were AGONY. I couldn't even put my hands in water. Everything was too hot too cold and SO painful. I literally BAWLED my eyes out getting them taken off and redone for months. And I had to wear gel nails for a year and a half! Everything I did hurt so badly and didn't start improving till at LEAST 6 to 8 MONTHS later. And the pain wasn't completely gone till at least 18 months after. 0 out of 10 absolutely do NOT recommend 🚫 😂 It taught me paying a little more costs FAR LESS in the long run. Those crappy nail techs are a ticking time bomb 💣 they ARE going to damage people it's just WHEN. And your ONLY protection is by not risking it being you and going somewhere decent. Ask on the phone what their procedures are and if you get there and they don't immediately prep... LEAVE.

I got my finger stuck in a car door because the car door was slammed closed by the wind. I started screaming and my dad said to pull my finger out for witch mom yelled back “it’s locked a**hole.” So now, years later, my nail wont grow over that tip and i don’t know why.
