Best way to get rid of berry stains is to just pour hot (boiling) water on the stain. It disappears in seconds! No chemicals or rubbing or soaking needed. You can even dunk the stain in boiling hot water, but I usually place the stain on top of a bowl and pour from the kettle. Best trick I ever learned!! Edit: Be careful with the hot water, though, so you don’t burn yourself! If you have a more delicate fabric, you might want to test it on a small corner first so you don’t ruin it. But I haven’t had any issues yet, and I use it a lot. For more delicate garments, I’ve even used a separate cloth dipped in the hot water to gently remove the stain. Not as quick and easy, but it’s worked. But again, mind your fingers!

I know dryers aren’t as common in Europe. I sent clothes out and it took a week for much needed sweat shirts to dry in damp weather in Rome😬 Air drying might be great but seems odd to just not have the convenience of a dryer when in a hurry. Please help us understand why you don’t have them. Are they super pricey over there? Is it an environmental concern? No judgment just curious
@AJD7233
Ай бұрын
@@miriamalonso3959 great question haha! No uhm its just not common because of this: • a lot of countries in Europe have communal lifestyles and also smaller homes compared to America • Europeans are way more frugal then Americans but also have a lot of money because of that. And like to spend money on thinks that last a life time. A dryer does nog fit this picture at all. It cost more money. • In Europe the people are more old school. They know that clothes last a life time when drying clothes on a hanger outside and inside the house. • Europeans are more about the environmental because again, they are more old school. Its the same with foods. We have special laws here that protect us from eating foods with lots of trans fats, stabilizers and artificial flavors and colors. Its the same with dryers. Dryers are actually fake drying in contrast to drying outside with real wind. Its the standard here. Hope this helps 😂☺️🩷

So some stains like blood and a few other stains come out with a few dabs of hydrogen peroxide. I have found gents regular shaving cream (not foam) works magic on dirty collars and a couple of other stains. Some greasy stains come away with a little dab of dish washing liquid soap. And some stains like henna and turmeric stay on clothes till the end of time. 😅😅 Also dry cleaning helps a lot when some colors have run onto your white shirt. Hope this helps. 😊

Shout spray is much more efficient for stains. ❤

I had 4 young kids and never had to do all this 😆 I had a bottle of spray n wash a simple white washing machine with a clothes rack above it and extra hangers. This looks expensive and a lot of unnecessary extra work for this mom.

after the stain is before the stain. Don't stress yourself out like that. Anything that doesn't come out in the wash can stay on.

I've learned to just pretreat food and grease stains with a small amount of whatever laundry detergent I'm using , I rub it in my jeans but on cotton shirts I simply lightly stretch the fabric to let the detergent get into the fibers. Sometimes it might take more than one washing, but stains always go.

From reading the comments, I'm astonished that 'hanging clothes on a washing line' is some kind of revelation to Americans. If you want to burn a hole in your pocket from the cost of running a tumble dryer, then I suppose... you do you. 🤷🏽♀️

Yeah, but when you have a family of parents and older kids, that's a lot of real-estate you need for drying inside the house. It's an eyesore too. Outside, isn't a possibility for everyone especially people with allergies. Pollen on my clean clothes so I can sneeze all day? No thanks.
@Ron-Ayres

@@TheShannie33 I wasn't suggesting drying the clothes indoors, but _outdoors._ I've had hayfever since I was 7yo I've never had an issue with pollen on my clean clothes from hanging them on the line, thankfully. That seems a bizarre rejoinder when those same people will be wearing their clothes outdoors! I have a pocket-handkerchief back garden and a fold-down whirlygig washing line. My neighbour has a retractable line so as it doesn't interfere with her outside space. I'm not suggesting that outside is a possibility for everyone - but no one solution suits _everyone,_ and it's unrealistic to expect it to. I don't think I've ever seen an American influencer hanging their washing on the line, and most of them have lovely outdoor spaces - clearly visible in their videos. It seems to be more of a cultural thing, with many Americans clearly as wedded to their tumble driers as they are to their cars.

@@Ron-AyresAdditionally, Europeans who live in tiny apartments also dry indoors, on hangers on a rod in their tub.

@@alexchavez5322 Yes, you're right. I am European and this is very common in flats without outide spaces. I'm not referencing people in tiny flats, in my post above but specifically (mostly) Americans who have large houses and a *_garden_* who could clearly dry their clothes outdoors! Even people who live in very small back-to-back housing with little more than a small concrete yard still dry their clothes outdoors. Tumble-drying really should be reserved for bad weather conditions or emergencies when you need a garment dry quickly. Failing that, I've ironed my clothes dry before!

Reason why I hate the eco friendly machines. Get yourself an older washer or maytag commerical residential unit. U can soak inside machine and since it uses water it actually cleans.
