Our today's interviewee:
Romuald Malinowski (born in 1929), soldier of the Home Army, the Warsaw Uprising insurgent. He talks about German occupation in Warsow, e.g. the first mass execution in the Wawer District, which truly shocked the Warsaw community. Thanks to his connections, Malinowski joined a secret paramilitary youth organization "Orlęta" and attended special training in Julinek, a village located in the Kampinos Forest. When he suggested the following operation: he wanted to steal two motorcycles from a workshop where he worked and hide them in Julinek. Malinowski and his friends managed to leave Warsaw but encountered the German gendarmerie in Zaborówek. The encounter led to a shooting; Malinowski luckily escaped, but three of his friends died. After a couple of days, Malinowski had to answer answer before his superiors for his irresponsible operation which cost three young men's lives.
