"Strange Fruit," a protest song about lynching made famous by Billie Holiday, was written not by an African American activist, but by Abel Meeropol, a Jewish high school teacher from New York. This video is an interview with Abel’s adopted children, Michael and Robert, whom he adopted after the executive of their biological parents, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg.
