The Ulki, the Ulcha, the Tozungi, the Orochs and more than 20 variants ― all of them are the names of one people living in the Far East. Officially it is called the Oroks or the Ulta. The people have never had written language, and during the 2010 census it turned out that only 10 out of 295 people could speak their native language. Like other northern peoples, the Oroks bred deer and lived in the choum (nomadic home), Like some Siberian ethnic groups, they believed in spirits of nature and especially worshiped the master of taiga ― the bear. Who are the mysterious Oroks? What were they busy with? And why did they put leather pendants on children's necks? You will find out the answers to all these questions in the next few minutes.
