Those suits look hot. Some real voice talent there...no lip synching here.

There will never be another group like this. They had everything--talent, looks, love for each other and the audience too. They worked their shows, didn't just stand there and sing. They could do anything-play many instruments, dance, sing, write most of their music....

+Rosy Plain I was 11 or 12 years old when this concert took place (depending on what time of the year it was). I never got to see an Osmomd concert live back then. Only now because of the internet and KZitem can I see it decades too late but better than never. Also when I was about 16 (in 1975-76) , I recall I was in a classroom in which one of the other students considered himself a Rock and Roll purist and he absolutely hated the Osmonds and I won't go into what he said he wishes would happen to Donny, but he said that they were not a serious group and were just teenyboppers and not good ones at that. This guy loved "KISS" though. I thought that KISS was awful . Elton John was the biggest rock star at this time. However though I did not completely agree with this classmate of mine, he did make me feel childish and unsophisticated and as if I had poor taste in music because I did like the Osmonds and other teen idols. But by looking at these videos, I realize that The Osmonds were underrated or became underrated. They actually had the talent to become like some of the more seriously-taken rock acts. Reportedly they wanted to be like Led Zepplin, not a "boy band" but just like what happened to David Cassidy, the Osmonds were marketed to a mostly teeny bopper audience. Reportedly even Ozzy Osbourne said that he really liked The Osmond's hard rocking song "Crazy Horses."

I had a bit of that at my school too. They thought it strange I liked the Osmonds, while everyone else was into all kinds! But the Osmonds were better . I'd say, only ABBA from Sweden is better!

40 years ago today I was screaming at the Ohio State Fair at my very FIRST Osmond concert. It was about 95 degrees in the shade and girls all around me us were passing out but my friend and I agreed that if one of us passed out the other would go on. LOL! Since then I've seen Donny and/or the Osmonds on several other occasions and in 2009 went to LV and sat front row at the Flamingo with meet n greet after. AWESOME!!!

Their outfits look terribly hot and uncomfortable. But they don't let it stop them from performing and putting on a great show!

I was born in 1960 and grew up hearing the music of the 50's 60's and 70's which is my type of music. When I was in school you either had to like The Osmonds or The Jackson 5. I was a rebel I liked it both groups. To this day I love the Osmonds

I remember the state fair acts would typically do a day and an evening/night show on the same day. If this was the Osmonds only daytime concert at the '72 fair (August 28th?), my 13 year old self was there with (and only because of) my also-13 year old gf. I remember it was hot, the Osmonds sweated a lot, and the girls screamed so much my ears hurt. I was never a big Osmonds fan and hadn't paid much attention to them but their energy and talent at the concert impressed me even though I went in prepared to not like them. I still didn't run down to Lazarus or Gold Circle to buy their records afterward but it was hard not to respect their talent.

No wonder they were in such great shape, what with all of the jumping, dancing, and running around on stage. They didn't have to go to the gym to work out!
