I believe Germany had something similar...in the 1970's. Can't remember exactly, but I believe that it was called "Autobahn Partei". It fizzled out after a short while.

I'm afraid the car lobby is already deeply in politics. For example when I listen to Austria's chancellor Nehammer talking about Austria as a "car country" (Autoland) and expressing plans to invest a gigaeuro into "green combustion engines" which would be a total waste of money trying to keep an outdated and highly inefficient technology alive. Likewise in Germany where coalition partner FDP cancelled an earlier agreement to stop production of cars with combustion engines arguing with being "technology open". Their chairman is known for his love of Porsche ... and has personal connections to the upper management of that company.

Yeah, i mean, you've got a point.. The car industry of these countries are a major part of their economies, and so, they want to do everything to protect cars as much as possible

@@TheTramly And the Czech car industry is also highly important (mostly VW-owned Skoda Auto).

Yes, we have Škoda, and we have tons of factories of other automakers, like Toyota

You know.... Not like I can't even see the cars arriving to a crossing behind the SUVs parked on the side of the street blocking half the pedestrian path..... (I experience this problem daily since I study/go to school in Prague) ... But to be fair I do like to watch dashcam compilations from one Liberec based channel.(But I don't like actually going by car)

As a someone who is interested in guns, I never heard about some "national shooting center," I have no idea what it is supposed to mean and do, I have to google it. But I noticed that a lot of people from gun community are also car-centric people and antiEU people. It makes some sense on one hand (you know, ban of lead projectiles and other nonsenses), but on other hand, it offends me, because some of these organised "gun people" are acting like everyone from gun community has the same opinion and shares their political view, which is not true and the should not be that visible and spread some political opinions because it just makes them looking weird, suspicious and potentialy dangerous by point of view of majority of society. I think the best way they could do is vice versa be normal and get into EU parliament and try to explain some things to them and make EU better, not trying to leave EU, that's a nonsense. I don't believe that EU politicians are that stupid, maybe sometimes just explain some things properly would be enough and they would modify their "stupid laws" but nobody is even trying, we have only 2 states - deny everything or blindly accent everything from EU, both is wrong, we should sit there and influence things. Like when they banned lead solder (similar case as with ammo) which was absolute nonsense and it made electronics less reliable and home repairs more complicated and now you have to buy lead solder illegaly as a criminal when you want to fix some electronics. It's ridiculous and this is a result of not talking with them and not trying to explain it properly that they are doing nonsense. Like to ban lead can be a good idea in a head of EU politician, but they don't realize that it creates much more other garbage because of failing electronics because of leadfree solder. These anti EU parties want to leave everyting, but I want to make EU really better for everyone, we should really be part of it and have some influence on it. Talking about gun laws, our politicians are doing completely random nonsenses, they allowed unlimited airguns and flobert guns (tiny ammo guns which has power like an airgun) in 2021 and now we will have to ban it again because of EU law? They didn't know already in 2021? Why they allowed it? People already got used to it and now they will have to change it again, it was completely pointless, all these things just make everyone angry and it's like that with everything what our governments are doing, they are trying to screw with EU, but they must know that they will have to accept it anyway 2, 3 years later. Such amount of not needed paper work and bureaucracy because of these laws which are valid for like 2 years.....so even when I don't agree with these car-centric or weird gun organisations, I have to admit that in some things they are right. Our government should not make clowns from people, when you allow something, it should be allowed and not like "oh no, we have to ban it again 2 years later..." that's why people are angry, they put everything on EU, but actually we cause most of these situations by ourselve if you understand how I mean that. When you leave EU, you will have electronics with leadfree bad quality solder anyway when everyone around you is part of it, they will not make it different just for one country, that's the main point of what I was trying to explain and what these parties and people don't understand. I think I am even ok with them having some car-centric political party, there are much weirder parties and you know, you have democracy and we don't have to vote for them, so I don't care.

I'm not really in the gun community, so I can't really comment.. but yes, I agree that while the EU is absolutely imperfect, we're still better off inside than outside, and we should work towards making it better And I agree that having a pro-car party is just a part of democracy, I just found it funny and interesting that there's a party dedicated to cars

The MS party is the last thing Czechia needs. In terms of urban planning, Prague is a very shit city absolutely plagued by cars. Every decision in the right direction takes ages because the czech mentality that "freedom is only when right wing conservatism" is actively destroying the living quality of its citizens. Thanks for the great analysis
