Their idea of buying a large vacant farm field and designing a pro course and planting the trees, isn't a terrible idea. Especially if money isn't an issue. You could buy fairly mature trees to plant as the base trees and then plant other younger trees to fill in the area. If you put in an irrigation system and sod on the fair ways you could have an absolutely stunning course that would be playable in a year. You could dig in water features and burry fiber cable for coverage and power, then install street lights for lighting the course. Walking/cart paths on the outside of those tree lines that could double as the OB/spectator lines. Would be an absolutely incredible concept course.

The entire disc golf community failed to give props to DGN for getting the front 9 live coverage to work at northwood. Trevor and hunter still don’t even know it happened. It’s because it positive news and people only remember or care about negative press.

Surveys collect demographic data (politics, religion, etc) for a number of reasons, but a big one is to see how representative your pool of respondants is to the expected baseline of the whole population. So if the baseline is 25% non-religious, but respondants answer 75% non-religious, then the whole survey can be better understood as not necessarily representative of the whole population, but still possibly useful as representative of the non-religious subset of the population. Then we could compare to an expected political-leaning baseline for a 75% non-religious population to see if it is actually representative of that subset, or not! So among other things, the demographic questions are crucial in understanding your respondant pool's representative-ness.

You could be right, but from listening to the guy talk about it on another podcast, i do not think the term skewed was meant in a negative way. Rather in a slightly positive way as that podcast wanted to take credit for helping a player’s score. So more of an influencer. -. Also, i couldn’t keep up with all your awesome content during the season, and have been trying to catch up.

One thing you guys could do to determine a very basic strength of field would be to add up the world rankings (pick whichever you feel is the most accurate or make your own) of the top 50 players at the event. The lower the final number, the stronger the field. Example: if all 50 of the top 50 are at the event, the field strength is 1275. But let's say another field has the top 45 players, but then has the next 5 guys at 51st, 53rd, 60th, 62nd, and 65th. Then the strength of field would be 1326 showing that it was a worse field, but only slightly. I think it is reasonable to only account for the top 50 since the field rarely is much deeper than that in terms of true challengers and it would remove outliers from the bottom of the fields. It would also allow fields with only 60 people to still be measured against a field of 180. This would also help compare the euro tour with the US tour when it splits.

Constructive criticism: should you ever do that disc golf course game again (and probably don't), have the capital cities already researched and show photos of each course. The photos give additional, visually interesting cues as to the country and also distract the audience from your painful lack of geographical awareness.

Ultiworld rules. They are the real journalists of disc golf. I enjoy the foundation stuff as well. I've really enjoyed Brodie's take on a lot of things. I had no opinion when he came on the scene and people hated him. He is a playing fan in my book. He's a true fan. Probably the most skilled fan of the sport in the world. Seems like people on social media like twitter (or x if you're a musk shill) hate him. I only watch his long form interviews and he actually comes across well to me. Twitter is for click bait. If you're on it it's your own fault. Lets be real though. Everyone besides Ultiworld are basically pundits talking about the news and applying opinions. Ultiworld is the news of disc golf. Period. Love most of Charlie's takes. Josh should go. Foundation should keep being foundation.
