This is my favorite book in the world and I wanted to read it out loud to current students and any students I may have in the future. I first read The Phantom Tollbooth when I was nine and I've read it at least once a year since then. I learn something new each time I read it. This book is full of jokes and wordplay, but it's primarily an allegory. Each character, place, and situation represents something different about life. It's a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy it!
In Chapter 1, we meet Milo, who feels that life has no meaning until he receives a strange package in the mail.
