Big thanks Andrea ! 🥰🥰🥰 for answering my request 🙏🏻 this is definitely my Pilates nemesis 😳 .. well.. one of them 😂 just one question please about the timing of hands and feet... I notice that you lift your hips up almost before your hands come down.. 🤔 I think I bring my hands down a bit before I take my hips up as I need to push my hands into the handle and down on the carriage to find sufficient lift 🔝... is this ok? 😊

Hi there - yes let's talk about the timing. Usually you'll work this exercise for a while before looking at the timing. I learned to perfect this timing during my time in the Work at Vintage Pilates. I think I always knew the goal was that as you lift over with your lower body your arms are reaching toward the mat and both will arrive at the same time. But no one had ever suggested I try to do it LOL... the key is connecting in to the upper stomach as you contact the handle in your hands - the upper stomach pushes the arms and starts the over of the lower body - and ends up as the point of balance in the over/up. When you get into it right away it also helps as this is often a stiff bit in lots of people (guilty). Does this make sense? Also you must not need to "cheat" with your arms pushing you over once they hit the mat first - if one does... we can discuss more when I see you next if you like - keep up the good work and so glad you liked your tutorial. Was fun to think I was "chatting" with you while filming :) xox

LOVE the detail ... and the evolution of the order! Andrea - Can you suggest any mat exercises that might support developing greater control on the way down? I am using the rolling exercises (ball, open leg rocker, seal) and cork screw to develop the low ab strength to lift on the way up. Curious what might help with developing control on the way down when you are working against gravity to control the movement.

Hi Mary Beth :) The Tower on the Cadillac is one of the best teachers for our lower body reach - and the position and angle are identical to the Overhead (and JackKnife). Give that a try - and don't let the push thru bar push you - you will reach up and into it as you are rolling down with control :) Hope this helps! Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts and questions here. xox

OR ... is there something I could do using the Wunda chair to develop control as I lower myself back to the carriage?
