Sorsogon, Lugar na Magayon!
Subic Beach, in Calintaan Island, has the nickname of "La Playa Rosa" because of its pinkish powdery sand. What makes it blush are the nearby red corals that had been pulverized over time. There are actually two Subic beaches on the island: one is "liit" or small, and a longer stretch called "dako" or big. The latter is more popular because of its basic but tourist-friendly amenities that let visitors to cook their own food and rent huts for those who want to stay overnight. Tent pitching is also permitted. Surrounding this island are the gnarly waters of San Bernardino strait that makes the trip to Subic beach a rather adventurous one. Aside from the waves being extra playful, the area is notorious for its whirlpools given certain weather. In any instance, guidelines are set for tours operating in the area to ensure the safety of travelers at all times. On the bright side, the reward for braving rough seas is a secluded and unspoiled beach paradise shared with only a few other adventurers.

Tikling Island in Matnog, Sorsogon is a quiet island getaway off the coast of Matnog. Its pristine charm lies in its white sand which gleam against the backdrop of clear blue waters. The island is kept simple with no amenities for tourists, no huts for rent, and only coconut trees to provide shade. While the beachfront is too beautiful to abandon, taking the time to explore the entire island on foot is also recommended. The opposite end of the island offers a rougher image, with a scenery of rock formations and waves crashing into them. A place this gorgeous is usually hard to reach, but luckily, Tikling Island is an exception. In fact, it can be seen from the mainland and can be reached by motorboat from the town's pier in less than 30 minutes.
