I had never realize the fact that I am conscious of being conscious until I heard Rupert talking about that. And yet this is the main difference between us and animals. Thank you!

@@alanneachell9092 Interesting that this showed up this morning as I've spent some time lately watching YT vids of Ariana Reflects - and still teasing out the ''traditional" vs. the Neo-Advaita approaches to "awakening." And, of course, dualistic language-ing, offers its own challenges. Still, there doesn't seem to be anything more basic that Awareness knowing Itself (my caps), or Rupert's statement of "Knowing, knowing only Knowing." the addiction to this 'person' (body/mind/world perception) appears all powerful, as well as subtle and insidious. Cognitively, I can 'know' this is illusion but on this relative plane - thoughts/feelings/perceptions sweetly beckon like the poppy fields in The Wizard of Oz, and back to sleep I go.....This is why I am grateful for friends (like you) that serve as 'wake-up calls' to support me to keep looking inwardly.

@@timdavis2220 I really like the Ariana and Tony Parsons type message but I very much relate it to Rupert. Its interesting that they avoid the fact that reality is known. Yes, its just whats happening but it's known for sure.

"There is no language for this, because our language is a language of things." I agree, Rupert is doing an extremely good job using words to express the unexpressable. English is not my native language and I've started to find my own (German) pathways now for it which is quite a challenge. But such an enjoyable one... Thank you for the compilation, Alan, what a wonderful review.

I am so sorry about your brother. I am 70 and a couple of decades ago studied Identity theory with the dialectical as primary and continuous within a gestalt “field.” Post-structuralism. So now I see nondualism as the reality of our being. I can occasionally realize peace and even happiness but my brain electrochemically contributes to an ongoing “vortex” of fear created by my thoughts and feelings, involving sensations and perceptions. It’s a hard rain. I lose faith in what’s real. I just now realize that remembering to examine my bi-polar-ness when I am episodic might be helpful. I hope. Sometimes the concept of death sounds more friendly than the world.

I am also 70. The big breakthrough here was when I was introduced to myself as awareness and instructed that all arisings (thoughts, feelings, emotions, people, places and things) are the dynamic energy of awareness and nothing more and that everything arises in me and disappears like a line drawn in water. I looked to see if this was true and found it to be so and was able to bare whatever came along until it genuinely and authentically lost all of the power that I had previously given it. Seeing the impersonal nature of arisings also seems to be a by product of recognising what we are. If you would like to talk further you can find me on Facebook and we can chat privately. 🙏💕

What Rupert explains is like the finger pointing to the Moon. He has like Ramana Maharshi, has excellent clarity. But unless it is your experience, you won't understand. Hear repeatedly and try to experience. 🙏🙏
Hey alan would you be willing to please point me in the right direction to find some explanations by Rupert talking about how all perceptions are known in the same place? Do you have any suggestions from your content library?

So does self awareness have to have the refraction of the body mind to understand itself or could it know itself without the journey we are on?thanks in advance.

Awareness doesn't need a body to know itself but does need a body to know a so called world. But bodies are not aware, only awareness is aware.

Hello Alan. I am wondering if you think a neurotransmitter imbalanced but medicated person with bi-polar-ness is able to achieve or relax into an on-going peace and self-compassion from extreme trauma/fear/delusions.

I'm really not sure. My brother had severe bi polar depression and I could never reach him. A very gentle introduction to presence may help but I wouldn't suggest any non dual concepts in this case. I'd be very interested to know if you have any success in this. Thanks for caring 🙏💕
