The plugin still sounds brighter, with a more crispy sound. But they sound extremely similar. A filter sweep or two would be interesting to hear.

Fun comparison, nice job. Great sounding plugin! The low end saturation sounds spot on.😮 I’ve used Pulse on a lot of projects. Waldorf has made so many nice synths.❤

Yes, Waldorf have done a great job releasing this plugin! Very useful also for easier programming of the hardware unit without programmer!

EDIT: I now played the VST in my studio in parallel with the YT-video. That´s a different matter. I level matched the gain as good I could and suddenly the RAW SAW sounded much closer to the hardware. In general the VST sounded better in the studio as in the YT-Video, which seems to be compressed very much. Playing live, the transients of the Sequence patch now also is better sounding. Although the hardware sounds better, even from the compressed video. OLD: Again, the punch is missing and the hardware has more depths and separation to it. As a result, the plugin feels like the different elements of the tone are more shifted together. Imagine all those hardware components on a synth-board, through which the sound is flowing; and than there is the analog filter! Imo Waldorf didn`t do a good job emulating that filter - I leave the filter open on the plugin and use P565 Siren instead. In addition, P42 Climax from Pulsar Modular is helping the plugin to get more depths and clearness - a bit of its hardware like saturation in dual mono mode and here you go. Also again: It´s great that the plugin has all those interesting details of the original hardware. Waldorf did a great job here.

Raw Saw is better on Hardware: deeper and creamy

Yes, that‘s exactly what I think. And quite surprisingly because it is such a simple = almost raw patch!

@@LESINDES that's where is true analog filters shine, saw wave with a lot of harmonics. but it's amazing how close and precise new algorithms are!

@@temaniakYes, in this field, the differences are smaller. But playing chords, the hardware - in most of the cases, will separate the voices better.
