people bitching about exposed belts, or how unsafe it is, POWER HAMMERS ARE NOT SAFE TO BEGIN WITH, NOR ANY OTHER FORGING MACHINERY. Most mechanical hammers have exposed belts, moving parts, without guards on them, and to be honest MUCH larger machines are also this way, machines that can and WILL kill in a single hit if you are negligent, if you're smart and practice safety around it there is absolutely nothing to worry about, I've seen far worse home built hammers then this. Good on you guys for making a good little mechanical hammer, if i could lend some helpful advise it would be either make it hit more rapidly or increase the head weight, maybe remove a leaf spring or two to give it more "whip". i built my own power hammer a few years ago, pneumatically driven 100+ pound ram weight with steam hammer linkage, works great.

Heck yeah! Similar to one I made years ago. I wish I had made mine a more simple design like this one though, as mine was a nightmare to repair when needed.

"Custom stack of metal", but when he set it into motion, I saw nothing but cool. It should suffice, and what comes from it will give no indication of it's rough beginnings, except the smile of the forger.

What’s the chances of you posting the components used to make this beast? What is used for the power source( the driving assly powering and giving its rotating/ foot control device)?

That is actually very inventive, is it dangerous, possibly, but I've seen and done worse with a few small tools of my own. It's actually difficult to make anything when you're using what you have at your disposal, that's why I don't judge. Do you, it just shows your drive and ingenuity, I know because I used scraps to make a belt sander, it still needs work but it's functional.

For the days when you shaved your beard off, and forgot to eat your wheaties. You get an "A" for effort, but still pretty cheesy.
