I have an Nidec 5000 RPM 120mm fan, and i was able to use it on my pc, by splitting the cables, and wiring the Pwm and the Tachograph wires to the motherboard connector, and the Plus and Minus wires to my power supply. At 1500 RPM is surprising quiet, and moves a ton of air.

My HP ProLiant DL380 G6 uses those fans, but damn, I have never seen a little fan like that be ever so powerful like that!
@ElectronPower

Well, the speeds depend on temperature and many other factors, like, if one or two fans fail (or if you remove them), the others will run faster, to compensate for the loss of airflow. Thanks for watching!

@@Nyxiality Actually a couple months ago, I got 2 new servers, both of them are Cisco UCS C240 M3s, and I still have my old HPE ProLiant DL380 G6, but it runs Windows Server now and not ESXi. My Cisco UCSes do that now!

With this one, there are yellow, red and green, but I don't remember which two of the three I used. Maybe green for ground and red or yellow for positive, but I'm not sure. Try to google it (server fan pinout or something like that) and I'm sure you'll find something. Thanks for watching!

@ElectronPower
5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but you can hardly do anything except soundproof your entire server or server rack, but that also means more heat buildup, which can then become even worse of an issue. Another way is to lower its speed, but that, of course, also results in heat problems, since the fan is not moving as much air as it did before. Thanks for watching!

Not sure, but I'd guess; somewhere around 10000-15000rpm. You could probably find the specs for this fan if you googled the model (in the video title). Thanks for watching!
