"How many of you have ever heard of a profession called Child Life Specialists (CLS)?
She is the director of the Japanese Association of Certified Child Life Specialists, started working at the Pediatric Department of Nagoya University Hospital as a CLS since February 2007.Child Life Specialists is a profession which reduces the emotional burden on children fighting against illness. They do not practice medicine but support health care for children and their families. There is no qualification system, and only less than 40 people work as a CLS in Japan. But through her speech, you can see how important this profession is and how much it means to those children, and the specialists themselves. Also, Her hard working experiences concerning the development of CLS."
