Nobody has mentioned VITAMIN K2 THAT HELPS VITAMIN D ABSORPTION IN THE BODY. I have also been told that Calcium Carbonate does not leave body and can build up, unlike Vit.D and Vit. K2. Also I grew up learning that Prunes assisted Constipation, this is very confusing?

They do discuss how prunes are high in fiber and is good for digestion and the gut microbiome. She explains how to eat them so they don’t bother you. Good health starts with the gut, including bone health.

Haven't read the comments, but going to guess that the benefits of prunes is the Boron in the prunes. Boron is only present in California and the middle east. Boron is known to strengthen bones and reverse osteoporosis and arthritis. The Borax Conspiracy by Walter Last

This is life changing information as I read the original abstracts on Google Scholar. My osteopenia has caused my jaw bone to dissolve and so bc of that I am losing my teeth as well. The teeth and bones are the same. I also ordered some K2 with D3 and I eat a quart of nonfat Fage yogurt a day for calcium. Better late than never. I'd rather eat 5 prunes a day than use bisphosphonates.

Was the study funded by Sunsweet ? That can be a real problem because the researchers have an issue with bias.

Good point, but you can't patent prunes, so there's probably less corruption here than with Big Pharma and bisphosphonates. ;)

Yes, the research was supported by California Plum Growers. That was fully disclosed and it is important for the food industry to support nutrition research so we can learn more about potential benefits and risks of different foods and nutrients.

It's Boron, not the prunes. California and the middle east has the Boron

After being diagnosed with osteoporosis and deciding not to take biphosphonates, I ate a whole lot of prunes until I found out that the study was funded by the California Plum Growers. Fair or not, it made me uneasy. I guess funding has to come from somewhere and it's probably no different when it comes to Big Pharma studies... I don't know what to think anymore.

Thank you for this valuable information. I’m always looking for ways to use whole foods for good health. It would be great if you had a link to the study. I’m going to look it up and I’m going to go buy prunes tomorrow.

TY for this . Would rinsing the prunes before eating them ( to remove the sugar/syrup they bring on their skin ) reduce the effectiveness for osteoporosis purposes ? Thx and regards from Spain ❤️🙏
@MelissaJoyDobbins

There is no need to rinse them but either way it won't make a difference for the sugar content or effectiveness for bone health.
