Completely agree, Ferris wheel path allows slightly up and tilting through contact to keep the barrel in the zone as long as possible. More room for success to use the whole field and hard contact

I would say yes. The load is super powerful. And your swing path comes up into a ball that arches down into the mat, which should mean less pop ups if the timing is off. I'm going to use it this season. I'm a warning track hitter so I'm hoping I'll be going yard more this year. 🤞

I've been watching and trying to learn the technique taught by the Teacherman all winter . Yesterday was my first batting practice since October, no live swinging all winter, 50° cloudy and sprinkles. I'm 47, never hit for power but I smoked the ball a few times and put one over 300'. Not saying just off the back leg, but pretty close. The coach asked what the F*ck was doing with standing one legged and cocked. A Few pitches later, see ya!! I can't wait until I figure out what I'm actually doing and it gets warm out.

Agree with a lot of your observations, but I think you're disagreeing with something that doesn't really contradict with what you teach. If you look at the same players who "coil" and trigger on their back leg, they also get hand separation, and hips separating from the upper half at launch. They also have to be balanced through the swing and can't stay on their back leg through impact. The weight has to shift into a firm front side to some degree. Even Judge does this. Its a kinetic chain of natural movement in the human body. Try not to be dogmatic. Be curious and open minded. The swing is complicated and unique for every body.

i agree with this. the shoulder/hip seperation happens naturally when you coil while falling forward. the resisting of going forward is the shoulder hip separation that Rich teaches.

I try to watch his videos but his explanations are so difficult to understand. At 1:00, he states that a swing across the body is the only result from the open hip position when in reality a hitter can drop the barrel in the zone and roll into the swing - which he does in the next frame. And like you stated, he shows a swing with his weight on his back leg. How can he get power without a stride and how does one hit a breaking ball with that type of slap swing?

I think you are right about a lot of thing BUT the hip socket that rotates is the front hip socket. Even in your swings, your body is rotating in the front hip socket not the rear hip socket.

Lighter in the front foot, launch your swing hard, and tilt your shoulders rearward (away from the second baseman) as you launch your swing. Those are the keys I use for pulling off.

Hello Rich. I noticed from video that I do not extend at contact during my swing. I’m scared to try to work on it off the tee because I do not want to accidentally teach myself a push swing. How do I teach myself this properly?

The coil creates hip shoulder separation. You're disagreeing about something that isn't really different except for how you get your body into that position.

@@jwdiho And anybody who has any experience in professional baseball--which you do not and neither does this guy--knows that hip and shoulder separation is a pitching, not hitting, related term. It refers to the separation between the front hip and back shoulder during the delivery. I appreciate what this dude is doing but he’s not a biomechonist and he needs to understand that. The majority of his points are not valid. Most of his opinions would not hold much weight when put in a room with actual sports scientists. For years he’s given his opinions as fact. For years I’ve held my tongue. He lacks understanding of very simple things I.e. anatomical planes, bone structuring, functional anatomy, applied anatomy… Luckily Judge doesn’t actually do what he advocates for. PLAYERS: please be aware you’re seeking advice form someone whose giving their opinion as a fact. That is highly dangerous and can ruin your career. Just because he’s worked with Aaron Judge DOES NOT mean he built Aaron judge. Arron judge would most likely still be Aaron judge regardless of this man.
