Those arriving by sea scarcely notice Casa Pátios, which seamlessly merges into the landscape between the mountain's greenery and the sandy beach. A thin slab separates the lush terrain from the shore, making the residence nearly disappear into the natural setting. Divided into two wide, low volumes, the house is centred around a lush courtyard. The front volume opens fully to the ocean, framing the view of the sea and sky. Large retractable windows connect the living room, pool terrace, and inner courtyard, providing a fluid, barefoot living experience between the spaces.
Inside, the kitchen and TV room are housed in a structure wrapped in eucalyptus shutters, a feature that allows for natural ventilation and light. The rear volume of the house follows a similar design, enclosed by the same material, and contains five suites. Each suite has its own private courtyard, bringing natural light and airflow gently into the bathrooms.
The house's minimalist lines are complemented by a thoughtful selection of materials that celebrate simplicity and imperfection. In addition to the eucalyptus shutters, rustic elements such as exposed brick walls and raw concrete floors define the space with tactile textures. The carefully chosen furniture balances the rough with the cosy, blending modern forms with natural surfaces to create a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere.
Blending rusticity with tropical modernism, Casa Pátios offers a sensory experience where textures, forms, and materials come together. Firmly grounded yet facing the horizon, the residence provides a serene retreat where the salty sea breeze and the earthy scent of the garden intertwine, evoking a sense of harmony with nature.
