Hi Rich, I am really impressed by your interview techniques. Your very relaxed and at ease, it makes your guests feel at home and paves the way for a very interesting discussion. Great content, your a master at it....well done. When talk about the punt and the old days, I remember like it was yesterday, being in the members betting ring at Rosehill in the mid to late 1980's. It was a great spectacle watching some of the very big punters in action. Being at Rosehill races on Saturdays was amazing. When growing up, I even wagged school on Wednesday's to go to Canterbury races. For me, they were certainly the most fabulous and exciting years of racing. Just a bit of trivia Rich, but going further back to the 70's and early 80's, I would always back jockeys like Sammy Mezzazelma, Mario Caltabiano, Bill Prain and Graham Horselman on long-shots. Every now and then, one of them would ride a 100-1 winner. Cheers and all the best. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for all that Greg. I too love the old days out of the Track even though I maybe didn’t see as many as you did. I appreciate the support and I enjoy doing the interviews a lot.

Top tier content . The envy I have of those who got to experience the days of actually going to the races and going toe to toe with the bookies in the betting ring . Great interview again rich

I love the giddy Ups down memory lane. I remember bumping into Mark many a time when he was running prices back to the paddock, he was a fit bastard back then lol. The track was everthing in those days, it was the edge. I always wondered how many winners Mark backed while calling races compared to the punting Mark. All the best Mark and thank you Richard for another terrific interview. Up the Den 🍻💪🐺

Interesting interview but nothing on TVN-Sky or much on his calling, he said he had horses, did he own any good ones? Biggest and worst days punting? All in all interesting but felt a bit missing.

Quite interesting...really knowledgeable racetrack guy...still don't know why he stopped calling races...used to like his style...nothing against Darren Flindell, who has improved a lot, just a personal preference...he's right about Surround, only 3 year old filly to win Cox Plate...at Moonee Valley of course, VRC Oaks at Flemington and Caulfield Guineas...how versatile, a genuine freak horse...how Alan Trevena rightly loved her...
