Loyal Moses didn't seem to have these issues, but with the issues you found there definitely seems to be some QC issues. And it looked like a serious pain in the a$$ to remove that filament jam, too. Should not be that complex. I'd call that a design flaw. On the positive side, Qidi seem to be learning quickly and producing more and more competitive products, so it'll be interesting to see how the Plus 4 evolves over the next few months. There are a lot of positives with this piece of equipment. Have to watch and see how it does in the long term.

I am having similiar jamming problems on my Q1 Pro. How I solved might be helpful for others. 1) Although Qidi's have volcano style nozzles, to be able to properly extrude i crank up the temperature 30 degrees higher than normal. I tested both my MK3S and Q1 Pro at same speed with hardened steel nozzles. Difficulties on pushing filaments causing buckling around the cooling block and it jams there. 2) When loading the filament, the bottom tip of the filament should not be twisted to the left side when feeding it into the extruder. This is little bit difficult because when the filament is is fed into the bowden tube it naturally comes out twisted to the left at the end of the bowden tube. Rotating the filament or the bowden tube and feeding the filament into extruder solved most of the jammings for me. I look forward their AMS but i am afraid it will be very problematic as well.
@NoizieWorks
17 күн бұрын
@nezihmertbolgul3605 Thanks for the info, my jamming came from using the filament cutter and trying to change out filament that way but yes i also found that upping hot end temps isn't really a bad idea as it massively increases flow without to much negative impact.
@iandinwoodie
16 күн бұрын
On the Q1 I’ve seen some people disconnect the Bowden tube from the middle of the wire chain to prevent the tube from hitting the right lip on the top of the enclosure. As a result, the Bowden tube is less angled when it approaches the tool head, however the tube will sit higher and you will need a lid riser to use the lid. I wonder if this relief on the Bowden tube would help relieve jams. In addition, if you’re changing filament after a print or after homing, then your tool head will be at the front left of centered. Both positions will result in the filament entering at angle to the left. Moving the tool head to the right of the bed should reduce this angle. Perhaps moving the tool head to the right (X max) and centered (Y mid) or forward (Y min) on the Y axis would reduce jamming.

Disappointed that the beefier frame didn't result in increased acceleration. I'll stick with my Q1 until there's a good AMS. Does pausing still lower the build plate a bunch like on the Q1? I think Q1 lowered the build plate 30mm to make room for wiper extension, which contributed to oozing when resuming a print. This looks like it shouldn't need to lower the build plate since the wiper doesn't stick out. I'm hoping that's the case. That will be a big deal if they add an AMS, and is why the Q1 will probably not get an AMS.

@@NoizieWorks I have had nothing but problems with my Xplus 3. I love the heated chamber. I have built a voron and my xplus 3 still prints ABS better, I think that is because of the heated chamber.

They spent all the time and money to get an industrial designer finally, so it's weird that they duplicate the Bambu Lab build plate skirt almost verbatim - they need a brand manager to call out stuff like this - own their own brand, don't give people reason to call them a copy cat, they're an industry pioneer for christ's sake

How many ways are there to make a build plate surround? Qidi was making enclosed core XY printers since before Bambu Lab existed.

Large frame members, thick build plate, wide belts, big linear rods, glass front and top, high temp hotend, heated chamber. Not really sure what you want. Everything machined or cast aluminum and looking like a MacBook Pro? Okay then pay $2,000 for it!
