This man is the real king of the travelers.not just for hes boxing for his genorsity his kindness sometimes he had no money in his pocket because he gave it to a down on their luck poor family or to kids that had lost family members . honestly this man could write ten books of his life story and they would all be best sellers .

45s ago My Dad was the Landlord of The Red Lion in Hampton. My Dad hired a coach/bus to take us all to the fight, The aisle of the bus was so stacked with crates of beer that you had to climb over the crates to get to your seat! I sat in the third row at The Albert Hall and watched Gypsy Johnny Frankham win the British Light Heavyweight Title. Johnny rode back with us on the bus .. I remember that his ears were swollen! I was a 17 year old Catholic school educated girl and that is still one of the best nights of my life!

My old dad (Dave Smith) had a story about Johnny (must have been mid 1960s), said he gave him a lift on the back of his bike and ended up in the bushes after coming off the road. Dad's side of the family are out of Twyford. Both mum and dad said Johnny is a gentleman, always had a good name in my house, well respected man. Lovely to see him looking well and healthy.
