I grew up thinking Gotham was fictionalized NYC. My whole life it's been used here in particular as a tabloid-headline nickname for NYC. It does seem a lot more like dystopian New York than any place in New Jersey, and it's tough imagining New Jersey containing any place like it. I bet the overwhelming majority of people here don't know Gotham is canonically in New Jersey. Still seems weird to me. I think Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and the rest of the very, very intensely New York creative culture at Marvel have been vocal and pointed that their characters live in New York, period. A real life city, no fictionalization. I wonder if any Marvel story ever cheekily depicted, as with ours, a tabloid heading referring to its NYC as "Gotham"!

Okay from what I gathered from the author is that the Superman and Wonder Woman books will talk more in depth about this world. Clark's book(set in 1925 to 1945)will show how his presence changed the world as he donated his ship and kryptonian tech to the America which created stuff like Star Labs, Amazo, Starman and the raise of Lex Luther. We will learn the origins of this world with humanity being evolved by The New gods(Darksied's family and people). Wonder Woman's book(set 1933 to 1963)is more based around the magic angle and her forming the JLA in 1935.

The backgrounds aren’t bad and the overall style evokes the Animated Series well, but the actual characters and anything with motion looks like something out of the Real Ghostbusters (but cleaner, thanks to todays digital animation techniques.) I’ll try again because the story has me intrigued, but man, that art. Ugh.
