I had a friend in college who was Tibetan visiting America on a green card. He had never seen the Star Wars trilogy so I sat down with him on a weekend in a classroom with a projector and watched them all back to back with him. When we got to Return of Jedi, he started laughing when the Ewoks spoke. Some of the words they used were identical to Tibetan.

The Jawa’s speaking Zulu in a new hope really caught me off guard…it’s kind of weird to be able to understand a short, hooded alien from a desert planet with twin suns😂 and what made it even more strange was how some of the things they said actually made sense within context, at times the grammar might be off but it wasn’t just random Zulu words jumbled together tho. honestly wish they made all Jawa’s in the Star Wars universe talk like that

Nice, if you ever decide to do so, it's important to get a good teacher preferably one who speaks the national Tibetan language (U Tsang) because the Khampa and Amdo have a very strong accent that isn't that understandable even within themselves. Also, if you ever decide to enter the world of Tibet vs China politics, I deeply advise you to base your knowledge on legit sources because ever since China took over Tibet, CCP has spread so much misinformation to favor themselves and keep Tibet from separating.

We used to play on a roleplaying ARK server with mods to Star Wars, as Ewoks. We decided early on to work and learn the language an pieced together the phrases and words to use. It created a lot of immersion for the rest of the gamers and they loved it. Me and the wife can still somewhat speak it today even though the server we played on shutdown. Definitely a language I would be learn further since we had so much fun with it. I also was practicing some Jawa and Twilek as well.

@@ThePlanetProject Great to hear you're considering to come to the PH one day. :) Be sure to learn the language from outside the capital Manila, to have a better grasp of the Tagalog vocabulary. Since Manila is cosmopolitan, most people speak Taglish & it may confuse learners. When you learn Tagalog, it will be enormously easy to learn related languages like Malay or Indonesia for they have simpler grammar & sentence structures. This will surely open a lot of possibilities for you.

Ok, one more comment I can’t resist because I was transformed by these movies as a kid! The beautiful thing about the Star Wars mythology is that it’s a mono myth for our entire planet that resonates with all humanity. It’s about aliens and humans forging close friendships, spiritual bonds and alliances even when they speak different languages and look vastly different from one another. It is a universal religion that unites them across cultures while their common enemy, the Empire is what they both seek freedom from. We need something as powerful as the Force today to unite a collective world wide rebellion of alien cultures to thwart fascism & defeat any empire standing in the way of global equality and freedom.

Ok. I've been trying to translate what is being said in The Return of The Jedi by the Ewoks. I know that certain words are Tibetan, Kalmyk Oirat, and Tagalog, and a bit of Lakota. I know that when the Ewoks 1st see C3PO they are quoting part of the brahmavihara and the 2nd quarter of the Refuge prayer in Tibetan, and that the phrases There's a lot of money here! Let's move! No its not him, its the one over there., I like big speakers., Yummy and louder. can all be heard, but what are they actually saying in Tibetan, Kalmyk Oirat, Tagalog, and Lakota? At what parts? Can anybody help me with this? I want my translations to be as accurate to the languages they're based on as possible. I also know that Nien Nunb is saying you over there come here.
