I really think that she does it when she's feeling uncomfortable or vulnerable. Or a kind of trained behavior when there is a camera. The part where she met her schoolmates from that school in Utah was just too painful. I didn't really know Paris. I was too young at the height of her "popularity" (notoriety??) but after watching her documentary out of curiosity, I kinda get her. It is kinda a great thing that she came from a really rich family that she can overfunction (create businesses, fly around to DJ, etc) cos everybody else, I think, would have a hard time coping from the things she experienced. Damn.

This interviewer is the worst, no compassion! Just cold and skeptical, I feel that way about Paris's mom too. Where is her outrage? Where is her responsibility? How can you send your child somewhere and just leave them, for a year, or more? Because they snuck out to go to parties?! She still is insisting she saved her life?! She traumatized her! I wish diane sawyer had done this instead. It reminded me of the jane Pauley/Madonna interview from long ago...just bad!

How awful is this interviewer, i mean you can see how much she dislikes Paris and how she judges her the entire time. I mean she is talking about her traumatic years in life and the traumas, but the only think this lady is seeing is still the blond Paris from TV.

Given her upbringing, and trauma she had a high risk of being an addict, and maybe even overdosing. But she chose to focus on building her independence, and doing whatever it took to gain freedom...now she feels secure enough in what she has built and is ready to talk publicly years later. Shes a strong woman

She's not stupid. She never was. Maybe she chose to be famous in ways that many didn't like or thought was noble or exemplary, but she's a woman who went through very hard lessons about self worth and trust. So to answer the reporter's question about whether a story about Paris Hilton is important when there's covid around the world, the answer is yes. Maybe Paris Hilton the brand isn't, but the story she has to tell about not having people around her to to give strength and good advice when she was at her most vulnerable, only to end up doing something she regretted that demeaned her body and soul is very important, especially to young people now. Doesn't matter rich or poor --- she came from a family with millions who would spare no expense to turn her into the person they wanted her to be, and they chose the wrong way to do it and she paid that price. Fortunately for her, her wealth allowed her to change things around, and she's doing a good thing by sharing that story. I hope she acknowledges publicly that it is her wealth and privilege that has allowed her to have a second/third/fourth/etc. act and many who have gone down the same dark road don't get that. For those who are skeptical and say that she's doing this for publicity, I don't blame them because her track record of cheap publicity stunts speaks for itself. But when she talks about the sex tape and that it would never have happened had she not gone to that school --- I believe her.

The first one to do anything is always the most hated. Paris Hilton did what Kim K., the Real Housewives, and all the rest of them are doing first. People love them but hate her. Not fair really but it always happens to the first one. Always knew she was smart. She is brilliant at marketing herself and making money. I am glad she is talking about Provo Canyon. A lot of kids got hurt at that school in the 80's and 90's. Did not realize she was there. Sorry she went through that abuse. 😢

I met Paris Hilton and Pia Getty at a Hospital Charity Dinner in Newport Beach Ca. My wife was a physician at the hospital. Ms. Hilton was intelligent, a conversationalist and was really educated on the needs of the hospital. I see the negative comments of the ignorant who don't realize she is a brand. She made herself into something more than a heiress... Jealousy and vegetating comes from the negative comments about Ms. Hilton...

I was not impressed how Paris' mom reacted how her own daughter told her how she was abused. How does a parent just drop off a minor without knowing if the same parent can do "surprise" visit. I never thought I'd say this in a million years but Paris Hilton is now one of my heroes. I am a survivor of institutional neglect and abuse many times over. Most of what I went through happened to me as an adult but I was locked in those buildings so, despite what some survivors of the the Troubled Teen Industry may think, #breakingcodesilence is as much mine as it is theirs.
