My daughters and I have followed you from almost the beginning of your travels. Do you know what makes a true explorer, your destination constantly changes, and that's you. You have just come to a change in direction. The native Americans have always been a mystery because they would just up and go. I tour places and hear the tour guides say, oh the native people disappeared and we think, they died, there was a sickness. The truth is we left because the wind changed and we changed direction, we just went on. I use to ask the elders, why don't you tell them what happened to us and they would say because they wouldn't understand. So I and my girls will still watch your videos in whichever direction you go. Stay safe and be happy.

There is a reason why full time RVing is most successful as a senior. Being a snowbird is a much more relaxing way to approach the lifestyle. Moving around less and enjoying the repetition of moving around in the same resorts. My WHY is to escape the cold Maryland winters. Amber you did a great job and full filled a dream. I completely understand your choice. Van life taught me so much. I am now living in Southern Mexico on the Pacific coast in a not-too-big city. I wouldn't have had the confidence to do this as a solo woman traveler if I hadn't lived the van life for 3.5 years. I have traveled to 42 countries and have worked on a cruise ship so that I could explore the South Pacific countries like Fiji, Australia, Papua New Guinea, and all the islands and countries around this area of the world. What I haven't done yet is get to REALLY know the stars and the night sky. Texas has a Dark Sky area to see in Big Bend National Park. (There is a night sky app). I think it would be interesting to watch you plan and make decisions as you go forward into the next phase of your life. EVERYTHING we do takes planning. I hope you include us as you go through this process.

@@MICHELLE-gu2qc It really is amazing here. I have a fully furnished apartment. I can walk to the beaches and the national rain forest and the grocery stores and downtown with ease. I only spend $622 a month for everything including food and utilities and even whale watching and boat trips along the coast along with the rent. I think I first found your channel when you started vanlife. I had just bought a 20’ 2017 Gulfstream vintage cruiser and I wondered if anyone on KZitem had one. That when I was introduced to your channel and many others out there living on the road. I instantly knew vanlife wasn’t for me. I just knew I’d be more lonely on the road than I was living alone in a house but I still enjoyed watching your travels and many others I actually bought my trailer as insurance that I’d never be without a home. I’m sure you can continue with your channel as a travel channel and or even a life coach channel. You could even have a channel to teach people to have the courage to move to a different state to live more experiences. I started watching “Stephanie the Keto Person” because I live the ketogenic life style however, watching Stephanie have the courage to move from CA to TX and now she’s in TN definitely was a huge motivation for me to get off my butt and finally move out of the only state I lived in for 64 years! So you too have lots of past and future experiences to share with your followers. Sure some will fall away but you’ll expand your experiences to a larger audience therefore you’ll grow more. No one can live on the road for ever. I’m looking forward to your future 🙂👍

Maybe show us what to do in Texas, maybe interview businesses for example the big tulip farm outside Dallas. You know how they started there business, what to do there and etc.

We all need structure but how do you come to really love what you need? I think that's why many people dream of van life. It's desire for freedom, and adventure, and fear of losing out and becoming boring! But structure and productivity can bring excitement and rewards too! It's just hard for some of us to see that, do that, and maintain it! Help!🥴🤗

How sad that we live in a world where people can judge so easily. F=#+% them Amber. You do you! Have a fabulous day ❤

I have enjoyed following you and the places you go. I cried when your dog passed and I believe that is part of the reason you settled for a bit the universe knew it was coming. Why a cool life you and your doggie had together. You inspire me and other people especially women. You gotta do what makes you happy. 😊

You go girl!! I've traveled all over the country via your travels, and I thank you for all the explanations, descriptions and pictures you've shared. Yes, everyone needs a change now and then. I applaud your efforts to make those changes and to protect your physical and mental health. As for the future, I'm happy seeing wherever you go. If I've already been there, I can enjoy revisiting the area via your posts. If I haven't, then I'm that much better off for having seen it.

Hi Amber Thank you for this thoughtful video. It is very helpful to me. I so much wanted to FT, but couldn’t for family reasons. With Covid, I sort of lost the desire and glad we kept the house. We had compromised on PT and am looking forward to that now. It really helps to get the info that you provided I apologize in advance if this is not the place to write this, but couldn’t find another place…. There is another KZitem creator that left VL and is now traveling differently- it reminded me of some of your reasons and thought you might like their content. The channel is Chris and Sara. Looking forward to your future videos Katy

For future videos, I would enjoy learning about things to do in the Dallas area since we travel there a lot. Things to explore in the rest of Texas would also be of interest. I’ve always enjoyed seeing places through your eyes since you seem to be able to notice details and share 10:34 an interesting perspective. Keep following your heart and sharing your authentic stories and all will be well!

What you said makes perfect sense. When I go out in my Solis for six weeks at a time, I understand how disorienting and what decision fatigue means. You are always on high alert, and that is very tiring. Having a homebase gives me a sense of security, and a place of belonging, I am on a quest this spring to see eight more national parks, including Big Bend Texas so it would be great to see a video of that place. My gut feeling is that you need to kayak and or get on the water in someway to see the canyon areas. We rented a van for three weeks in Italy, and drove fromMilan all the way back-and-forth across Italy to Rome and loved it. Van life in Italy is easier than in the US and from living in California food, and groceries anf eating in restaurants was at least 30% cheaper everywhere we went except the high tourist spots. I think we were able to avoid more of those by having the van and I felt like I really got to see real Italy between the high tourist destinations. Get with new RickSteve’s Italy book and follow his route by van, car, or train. I really liked having the van, because I only had to unpack once, and I always had food and a quiet place to retreat to no matter where we were. Other than a route… we did not plan ahead and not having be certain places at certain times reduced travel stress. See if your sister will go with you!

What drew me to your channel was your choosing to do what is right for you 🤗🏆 so I am just as excited , boosted in fact to see your recent choice to follow your own path , Chasing your own Story into this new chapter 📖 folks bite back sometimes if what you are doing challenges their comfort zone , I am reducing wheat and sugar from my foods and feeling so much better but there are a couple of people around me who seem cross about it and making challenging comments - am really enjoying your process of making house 🏠 but mostly getting energy from watching you make choices for what is good for your alround wellbeing as it feels like coaching 🌻

Great for you 🎉 I love watching people go through these trends in the internet. I was wondering how long people would want to live a half homeless lifestyle in cars and vans. I grew up homeless so it blew my mind to find out people CHOOSE to be basically homeless. I’m so glad your happy and I’m so sorry for your loss, my cat just died and I had her cremated so I understand the grief. 😢

I for one am looking forward to you exploring around Texas. I havent spent much time in TX but I do hope you visit Texas Hill Country, I hear they have some great antique shops so you can do more junking. I following the Junk Gypsies (they have decorated Miranda Lamberts airstream) and also have an shop and hotel which I always thought would be fun to visit. Hopefully you will get back to Waco to visit silos and Magnolia shop and their hotel. I woupd love to see a video about those beautiful blue flowers that bloom (blue bells?), and quirky Marfa Texas is on my list (watch the old movie Giant before you visit as it was filmed there and the hotel still stands). Oh and of course long horn cattle drive is a must see. Im sure I will think up a lot more ideas for you. I am happy you made the change. Maybe someday we will be tiny home neighbors.

Decision fatigue is real!!! I couldn’t handle it for more than 6 months. You did a great job of reviewing what the process is like. Good job.
