@@silentbigsteve3429 prepare yourself for Walmart's next big change. My store is the pilot store for this. The plan is by the end of the year to have all self checkouts. There is an easy way to do the self check out with out the machine acting up. Use the hand scanner located to the right of the screen. It is usually used for heavy items so you don't have to pick up but can be used for any item. Also grab an empty cart to put items into after scanning. The people doing this rarely need assistance. I was checking out a customer that had over $200 worth groceries but the tobacco register. The guy behind her had 1 shirt. The whole time I was helping the lady in front of me he kept raising his voice that we need to hire people etc. I had told him self checkouts are open. He spent 10 min to buy 1shirt when he could have already have out of the store. If you are in the self check area out, we are there to help you.

Dick's Sporting Goods. We had to push the loyalty program and donations to out of state charities. People would get pissed and ask why we were tryi.g to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital when we had a children's hospital in town. As for the loyalty cards, a number of us would just create fake accounts to get past the screens and get the customer out of there. People don't want to give you email personal addresses, phone numbers and their blood type while strangers are listening and possibly recording that information.

Oh man this is so true! I work retail and what's worse, we don't want to ask all that, we k ow it's annoying but because the company sees more customers because of getting those phone numbers and emails, we have to do it every single time, with every single customer, with every single transaction! SMH! Great video though!💜

This is me at the post office. They try to upsell everything and offer a thousand items I don't want. One time I said, "How about I give you the money and you stop asking questions?" I thought she was going to go postal on me after that. Her coworker started getting on my case at that point. My wife does the mailing of packages now. :)

Years ago, I used to work at Waldenbooks. The corporate office would come up with all kinds of silly telephone openings which we were supposed to use. One day, the phone rang, I answered it in the canned message corporate wanted us to use, and there was silence. Finally my daughter said, "Mom, do they make you say that?"
