Well said, Kendra. All very valid and important aspects to consider for anyone thinking of starting this "alternative" lifestyle. I think for anyone who wants to delve into homesteading for any reason, there are so many resources, much like your channel, to help people on their way.

Thank you. I agree. I love to help others where I can, but also give the truth. These things are sometimes romanticized and shouldn't be. It takes hard work and sacrifice to get where you want to be.

I see that mostly the majority of the work is done by one person. Adjust the workload accordingly. For me, being alone that certainly means scaling down on ambitions, letting some things be done by others i.e. buy the stuff. And looking into adjusting your diet for what wants to grow best with your skill set and climate. I find that some perennials + livestock is way easier then big gardens. Main reason is time, other part right now is space (minigarden + rabbit shed). Had more space before, but then still animals where way less hassle for me then gardens. Although i would love to have continued with what i had, some things i learn now tell me a lot about how much i wisely (and responsible when there are animals in the mix) can keep going.
