Great video, that area with the large beautiful homes on Broadstreet is known as the Russell Woods Neighborhood. I had a friend from high school who lived over there, it's beautiful. I live on the east side of the city kind of midway between downtown and E. 8 mile. Thank you for sharing. I love watching ride along videos of my city because I mainly work and run errands and don't get a chance to see other parts of the city as much. You might already know this, but Woodward Ave in Detroit is the dividing line between the east side and the west side of the city. Hope you enjoyed your stay😊

It’s soooo much I want to say about this video! Firstly, y’all are sooooo funny omg riding through our Detroit streets! Secondly, the highway traffic is nottttt what you’re used to, you could’ve stayed on Davison freeway and been perfectly fine. Rosa Parks grew up on Virginia Park which isn’t far from West Grand BLVD on near Hitsville (Motown). Your wife was absolutely correct about the bus she rode on, that bus is at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn where I graduated from high school. And those places where your wife first stated that Joy Rd had really nice big houses, that’s a subdivision and that’s where I live! However, stop driving east!!!! 😂 The east side of Detroit is a whole different type of world! Lastly, we aren’t racist at all, just ride and mind your business and no one will bother you 😂ohhhhhh and if you’re looking for Mexican town with good Mexican food, Southwest Detroit is where to go!

Detroit is the secund most segregated (by neighborhood) metropolitan area in the country between black and white, behind only Milwaukee. Detroit definitely has its own VERY ugly racial history but yes it is different from the south. The south has greater racial divides in terms of politics and in some other ways, but the great lakes region does have the nations highest levels of neighborhood racial segregation.

FBI Uniform Crime Reporting statistics released Monday show that Detroit logged 316 murders and non-negligent manslaughters last year, with a rate of 45 per 100,000 people. Hey dude when you said you listened to some Motown and you really wasn't liking it man you need to get lost with this video... you know I really didn't appreciate that cuz I come up off of that music and I'm almost 70 and I don't agrree with those words, you really need to tighten up! And you going to do a video about Detroit and downgrade Motown man you got to be sick. That's what Detroit is known for. Yes it's your opinion not to like it but if you profile and document a video about Detroit and you leave the Motown sound out you really don't have the core of the message about Detroit. And it stands it doesn't have anything to do with what kind of music you like. It's the music that detroiters loved and that should have been a very pivotal issue to bounce off of. That's my point.

Detroiters came up on Motown music. You weren't a part of that phase so you really can't comment on the intensity, the value the impact it had on all of us that lived there. Doing a documentary about Detroit and leaving out the Motown sound your message doesn't have a core.
