I’m finally open to dating Asian men. I’m from New York and the Asian men here don’t like black women at all. A lot run the nail salons, hair stores and Chinese restaurants and are so mean. I saw a small shift when my Asian eye doctor was super nice to me he was from around my generation so I think the young ones are a bit more open minded than the old ones who are mean. Also, when I stayed in Georgia for a bit the Asian men seemed a bit more kind.

Interesting there are many secrets and story that are never told. I was always told my great grandmother was part Native American but my ancestry DNA said otherwise. It turns out that my dad’s lineage included African and Western European linage. There’s a lot I can say about this clip, but as an Afro-Asian myself I faced many obstacles of displacement in my early youth; especially, in my case where I couldn’t pass for being an African-American kid. My facial features and hair texture were completely east-Asian oriented. I’m NOT knocking interracial couples, but there’s a lot to be aware of nowadays. If a black or white-American marries one another that’s different because they both come from the same American language and culture, well, for the most part. But the cultural and language barriers between black America and Korea are quite steep, and it’s the same between my two racial halves. Racial displacement is a societal mishap my parents would never have thought of as they weren’t the identity-crisis generation. Nowadays, societal norms are much different, but I would definitely say that cultural or identity crisis is a societal trigger that this young couple in the video clip will have to be aware of when they decide to start a family. Identity crisis has so many byproducts that can cause deviations and troubles in any family. Many young couples will UNDERESTIMATE the foregoing principle I just stated because they’re from a generation that promotes-JUST BE WHO YOU ARE. Unfortunately, they can only wish that SOCIETY will make it that simple for them. But the bottom line is that once any man or woman pledges love and commitment in marriage, then their worst adversary will become SOCIETY, and that’s even when the couple are the same race and ethnic group.
@Msd4-13
11 ай бұрын
I’ve usually found that the kids with mothers that are black are usually more grounded and don’t suffer from identity crisis as much as kids with Asian or white mothers. I don’t feel like the language barrier is an issue with them, as they both spent time in America and he’s fluent in English. I do believe that she should continue and try her best to be fluent in Korean as it shows respect for her husbands culture and it’ll be great for when they have children.

Which parent is black? That makes a big difference..
@eagledescending5766
11 ай бұрын
@@Msd4-13 I would be an exception to the default that you gave as far as having a more concrete identity; my mother is the black parent. Although, from my experiences, whether the mother or father was the non-black parent didn’t make much of a difference in my time and generation growing up. As I previously posted, I couldn’t pass for being an African-American kid, and as a result, in order to bond with the black youth in my time, there was one prerequisite that had to be met, and that is you had to look a certain way that resembled their facial features, if not that, then at a bare minimum you had to be absorbent to their sub-cultural climate; those were standards or qualities that I didn’t meet. As a result, an identity crisis was right up at my doorstep. I assure you that I wasn’t the only bi-racial in my time going through such regardless of who the non-black or black parent was. Overall, it depends on the bi-racial’s life circumstances because environment plays a big part in one’s life. As far as different languages, I agree with you that if both are willing to learn each other’s native languages or have knowledge thereof, then that should help to create an even balance in their union, although, it’s NOT a universal guarantee. But that’s NOT what I was implying. The language barriers between Asian and black communities are very STEEP. The two racial communities are obviously NOT going to exchange or share racial identities, and the language differences will MAKE SURE of that, so, that in itself can place an Afro-Asian in a predicament that he or she is NOT going to like as well as contribute to an identity crisis. Why? Because he or she would have no choice but to keep the two worlds separate and apart from one another; the only exception would be in-laws on both of their parental sides, and I assure you that I was no exception. If I had tried to link the two communities of both my racial halves, one would feel infringed upon the other, and it would have been-Game On!!! The whole point to my original post was that an identity crisis can possibly be the result of a hostile racial environment which happens to many bi-racials such as myself. Sure, the African-American lady in the video clip can learn her husband’s language, but would her racial community be as receptive?!!! Think about it because the mother’s racial community would still be a large part of the child’s life, and it could go either way of being receptive or hostile. This goes back to what I originally stated that when a man or woman pledges love and commitment to one another, the wiles of SOCIETY will find its way into their lives as an adversary. My original post was speaking from a COMMUNITY standpoint because that’s what makes up ENVIRONMENT and NOT from an individual basis that you were alluding to. When an interracial couple has a child, what kind of ENVIRONMENT will that bi-racial child inherit, especially with two of their racial halves that are POLAR OPPOSITES?!!! Hope this helps for a clearer understanding.

Im in a relationship with someone who i love deeply, but the difference between this couple and us is that my parents have deeply impacted our relationship in many ways. Seeing this makes me happy for them. I wish the challenges i still face didnt have to be. The generation of immigrants have sort of a lost time period, where the parents didnt get to learn or see the changes in the world that has lead to something like what the guys parents are, more open minded, versus koreans who immigrated to the US in the 70’s,80’s even 90’s. Id say most were more so of the mindset that isnt open minded, i mean that in the most complicated way. Its so difficult. Stubbornness is ah forget it. Bless these two. This vid is awesome❤

This is a wonderful thing to see. I was brought up to not limit my options. I think times are changing and people are busting out of the box and not limiting themselves anymore. As long as you are loyal, loving, respectful, and treat me like the precious jewel that I am (Biblically), I will treat you and love you the exact same way. The problem is, being 58, those options don't seem to be very abundant in my age range. I don't see many older Korean men being interested in Black women. Plus, where I live, there aren't a lot of Korean men. I've been single for 10 years (married 22), and the circumstances by which I became single have scarred me. (HOWEVER, I'm not the type of person who writes off everyone because one person did me wrong). But, if I happened to be blessed with someone who has the qualities I'm looking for, Korean men are definitely a strong option for me. On the whole, I'm happy that we are finding each other. Who knows? Maybe my future true prince will be Korean. ♥

Living here is very similar to their experience. I get more stares when I'm alone but when I'm with my wife and children, I really am in my own little peaceful world. We travel and find people just want to know about us and are usually very nice towards us. Most of the times its the foreigners who give us the side eye. I love seeing my kids grow up in a wholesome and supportive society and when there are issues within the school system, I find that they try to work with us in making sure we are respected and cared for. I'm blessed and after 10 years of marriage I really can say I'm happy. I wish this couple nothing but the best and many blessing in their future. What a nice couple. Wouldn't mind being a 3rd wheel in that relationship. Lol. Life to short , enjoy it to the fullest, forget who says what and be with whoever you wish to be with as long as you mqke eachother happy, that's all that matters. Nothing is wrong with trying different things , sometimes that's where you find your soul mate .

@@chrisr4407 I’m 19 and have neck lines it’s mostly due to genetics not aging. Kind of like a double chin
