This week we’re taking the flat bar gravel bike out for a local spin. How does it perform on a mix of rough roads, gravel paths and unmaintained trails? Find out in this video!
After converting my vintage Specialized Hardrock to drop bars, I was left a set of Crust Loose flat bars and Paul Canti brake levers that I wanted to repurpose. For months I had been toying with the idea of converting the Trek Checkpoint ALR to flat bars to make it even more off-road capable, and this was the perfect bar and brake lever combo for the job. Honestly, I could not wait to tackle this project and am stoked with how it turned out.
