This entry in the Red Book is one of my favorites, so I was glad to see you do a video on it. I don't find it dark at all. To me, it's a hopeful message. Everyone has a dark side, but to confront it and accept that it is there, leads to the joy of a wholeness. One of the things I like about Jung is he does not overlook the shadow in all of us...

It seems like Jung is wrestling, or contemplating a certain beleif, moral, or view of life. Its like he's using himself, the intellect and life experiences he had, to measure concepts that he him self conceived in the higher realms of thought. The red one is a part of him that seemingly materialized from the land of his own mind. His castle being his spiritual base and fortified with what knowledge he has obtained.

Dear Joseph, could i ask something? Have you ever tried active imagination? Because there a two ways of understanding Jung. One is where someone reads him interlectuelly and understands the words, but the other one does active imagination for himself and understands with through feeling. Having the red book (since i discovered your lectures) and parts of his collected works, i think that the feeling way is surpirior for its how he understood it.

Thank you for that. I have been speaking of the dance for some time, along with many other things, and this is great to get confirmation of the reasons that knowledge comes from my dance. My joy within the thin line of the Yin and Yang. The place where there is no battle, never was. Where harmony and paradox dance together just the same. The completion of the trinity. The place where the divine resides. Where all logic is useless as you know it. So dance as if there is no one is watching, because the one's who are watching of importance are not the ones you can see looking at you.

Beautiful work Joseph 💛 I'm glad I've stumbled upon your channel. To me it seems that Jung is afraid of being possessed by devil, or rather by joy which is inevitably devilish. Although he praises one who can forget themselves, he seems to stay away from that ecstatic trans-like dissolution of pagan rites and tribal dances.. He separates himself from devil and from joy. This is his way to stand his ground - a great way indeed. In my own inner journey it had played out differently. I became a devil but I kept my inner work. I meditated on my demonic nature, my drives and demonic intentions. I cannot claim that I know who Devil is, but I have clear experience of what it is when I am devil. So at some point the devil realized his limitations, his ultimate separateness. But there was something in him that was pushing him beyond his own boundaries. So he humbly sat at his meditation corner and for the first time started genuinely meditating on Something grater than himself. He started to see how everything's connected. He started to feel a Single Integrative Force in all things outside and in his own Psyche. The Devil felt a spark of Divinity within his own heart. ☯️ This is how the Healing of the devil started. He understands now the need for integration with other forces. And other forces finally accept him as inseparable. My greatest religious conflict of all times is finally melting. This is a story with an open end, as I keep digging deeper.
@HumbleUMedia

Appreciate your comment... This is the work! Many people talk about it, which you may be, but your words seem to get it. First, everyone's "devil" will show up differently. We all have the eternal forces in us, yet their thousand fold forms are unique to the subject. Psychology would be graspable if everything objectively showed up the same. Second, your fearlessness into your own nature is a rare trait in the world today. Without this, there would be no transformation and you'd be bound to lower forms of consciousness. Third, I find it powerful to sense oneness in such a dark, evil force. It is easy to feel lofty about being one with everything when life is white, but in the black most feel separateness. Fourth, I love the fact that you see Jung stand his ground and respect the forces as part of him but separate from him. Not only in your opening remark, but your own work (and noticed they may be transformed by pure reflection). Finally, I am not sure how familiar you are with Alchemy but your words (e.g. melting conflict) speak their language. I do wonder if it unconsciously coming through, or if it is intentional? Such a refreshing, beautiful comment. Thanks for sharing Aleksey!

I am come as a light into a world that does deny itself everything. It does this simply by dissociating itself from everything. It is therefore an illusion of isolation, maintained by fear of the same loneliness that is its illusion. I said that I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. That is why I am the light of the world. If I am with you in the loneliness of the world, the loneliness is gone. You cannot maintain the illusion of loneliness if you are not alone. My purpose, then, is still to overcome the world. I do not attack it, but my light must dispel it because of what it is. Light does not attack darkness, but it does shine it away. If my light goes with you everywhere, you shine it away with me. The light becomes ours, and you cannot abide in darkness any more than darkness can abide wherever you go. The remembrance of me is the remembrance of yourself, and of Him Who sent me to you. A Course in Miracles (Text ch.8.IV)

Yeah. With my Pluto (Depths) transit to Sun (conscious awareness), I had a dream of Jung that would not speak, but would get up and dance when I was in terror facing an impersonal Mana Personality god (Vishnu or Shani). Archetypes are essentially the instinctual unconscious moving through the cultural unconscious forming in imagery. So, yes, non-choreographed dance allows expression of the gods. Strangely, the dance Jung did in my dream was that of Nataraja (sp?)-Shiva as lord of the dance.

Having my own experience of the devil encounter, I'm laughing at this with how The Red One contradicts Jung's ego in every possible perspective. Take note too, it's not just the Devil, but the Tricskter too. Mine is a clingy and jovial shadow wyvern figure of black, red, pruple, with bright green eyes. The devil drawings, I have done that too. Twice. It's terrifying and heart rending after realising how much self-abuse was sustained that warped me into a twisted soul with infinite weight. Had also experienced a state where the unhealthy ego was basically completely disintegrated and gradually rebuilt. And yes, the "devil" always serves as a counteracting force for your ego. Hence, the "Devil's Advocate".

The business minded men of society would have this outcome & truly fake momentary events.. ..for in all honesty, no spirit see's ethnicity nor path.. ..they see man as a whole; And mere men will do what's needed to make an earn, even if to write and lure the conscience of those days.. Baffling today how we have more freedom to roam with abundance of access to knowledge that mere mortals still fall for the dramatic words of way back when.. No tricks, no lies, but I'd like to say, i find it hard to describe or place in a language something to the conclusion of contact &/or seeing the truth.. Anywho, nice grasp. Midway through the journey of our life I found myself in a forest dark, For the straightforward pathway had been lost. Ah me! how hard a thing it is to say, What was this forest savage, rough, and stern, Which in the very thought renews the fear. So bitter is it, death is little more; But of the good to treat, which there I found, Speak will I of the other things I saw there. I cannot well repeat how there I entered, So full of slumber was I at the moment In which I had abandoned the true way.... And even as he, who, with distressful breath, Forth issued from the sea upon the shore, Turns to the water perilous and gazes; So did my soul, that still was fleeing onward, Turn itself back to re-behold the pass Which never yet a living person left. For example the Grimm reaper is the personification of death, fairies are the personifications of nature, god is the personification of every single thing, Satan is the personification of all evil, jesters are the personifications of foolishness, all of which may be actual spirits that exists.

Your true self is joy and the shadow is anti-joy. You can't know your joy without knowing its opposite. Joy can not exist without anti-joy. Seeking pleasure is absolutely fine, so long as you cause no harm to others nor to yourself, following the silver rule. Life has a simple formula if you want joy: affirm positives and negate negatives. This is the only place we are allowed to use anti-joy, by negating negatives, because that yields positives. We must not affirm negatives nor negate positives, under any circumstance, as best we can. If we follow this simple formula the negatives in life will decrease and the positives will increase. I think religion messes most of us up. Anything that is fun, religion says its bad. Anything that is serious, religion says it is good. The truth is the opposite, provided you follow the Silver Rule.

Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

At 33:40 he says you have to come to understanding with the devil. I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean, but the devil wants your soul. You can come to no understanding regarding this point. Here, Jung’s Protestant leanings become apparent, because in the Catholic tradition it is stated in no uncertain terms that absolutely no ground must be given to the devil lest we lose our souls to him via grave sin. I’m not a saint by any means, even as a Catholic, but I find his approach to the question of concupiscence, or the tendency towards sin, to be interesting. Some might call it misleading. I have my own demons I wrestle with, and most of the time they win. Nonetheless thank you for making this video and reading it aloud to us

@ 9:56 he straight up gaslighting the devil haha. for real though this is unqiue quote from Jung. It tells me that the red one has no idea he comes from a physical earthly realm. AS they are speaking in the psychic realm. Jungs statements confuse the red one. Jung knows he is not of this place, but the red one does not. interesting though

In truth, I am distracted by the narrator mispronouncing so many words in this passage. if you are going to read Carl Jung aloud, it might be a good idea to look up the words that are not familiar to you...

When he is dreaming and he is on the tower and wearing green he says he has a horn slung over his shoulder and they put actual bullhorns LOL he meant like a trumpet it's interesting that the narrator interprets it as bull horns

Sir, with all do respect, there were no trumpets in medieval times. Yes, may be odd for a modern to think that far back, but they used animal horns in those times. Just like the one you prematurely call out. No fancy golden trumpets in this vision. Search Viking horns, or medieval horns. They used exactly what you LOLed. 😂 Much love! ❤️

The Self is not a perfect substitute for Christ. We could say that our higher Self streams from the Christ Being. Or is on a journey back to the Christ Being. Do not conflate these two. Jung didn't.

About 27 minutes in but before I forget to write this, recently I came to an epiphany. For over a decade I was what I could describe as being overtaken by my devil and was eating myself alive. Well recently with no real help with therapy and no real searching, I allowed myself to actually listen to the opposing side giving me reasons to see the usefulness and wisdom all the pain and mistakes I’ve suffered whether self inflicted or not. Seeing how people leaving my life isn’t necessarily a bad thing to suffer from for our time spent resulted in them being in a greater position rather than where they were heading before I entered their lives; as well as all the traumas I experienced gave me tools to handle walking with these people along their paths until we split. Now I have a purpose independent of specific people, now I feel I’m a companion meant to walk and talk with the broken, lost, and lonely until greener pastures arrive and they must go along their way. Honestly if this is my purpose then I don’t mind it’s something admirable, something that allows me to look in the mirror or behind my eyelids within myself and smile for once in god knows how long.

The Red book is a difficult read; even more so than 'Aion', which was the book Jung finally wrote in a last ditch attempt to make himself fully understood, having never felt he could publish The Red Book. Your narrative, creative use of graphics and explanation of this, of what was perhaps the most important work of the 20th and 21st century, is of great value in spreading the knowledge that it contains-at exactly the right time to do so.

@Anna Lisa Vajda Anna, humans fear what they do not understand. Wizards spoke in symbols only those with a third eye can decipher. But if u say this to a random stranger on the street, they will call u crazy cause once again they do not understand. Understood? Only we can use the knowledge as a precursor to the experience.
