I just barely found your channel, and you really _get_ what I love about video games. Making up challenges with your friends like you would on the playground, going out of bounds just because you can, customizing your characters to express yourself. Using games as a medium to _make your own fun._ I might just have to subscribe :P

I most remember playing like this at the house of a friend with a GameCube, the main game we'd play was Digimon Rumble Arena 2, but we'd also often have matches of 007: Nightfire

Super happy to have found your channel. Love hearing about gaming experiences from people that lived (and loved) through different console eras. The game that holds this special spot for me is Winback on N64. Not too many people talk about it, but that game held some of my favorite multiplayer console experiences from that time (yes, even more than Goldeneye).

Great video! 007 Nightfire was definitely that "one" game for me and my friends like Red Steel was to you and your friends. Had we not also picked up the Goldeneye remake for Wii, than Red Steel would probably also a game we would play a lot

I have a lot of fond memories of playing red steel multiplayer with my uncle. We had a blast and laughed a lot. He passed away a few years ago, but playing this game bring back so many memories of our time together.

Has the same experience growing up with the multiplayer in ratchet and clank 3. Wish there were more videos out there exploring the janky multiplayer modes of older games

recognizing this game without knowing the name or ever playing it in my life feels so crazy hahaha what hit me was remembering being very young and watching awful tv recordings on youtube (via my 3ds no less) of people playing splitscreen multiplayer and being really fascinated with the maps and sort of anticipating when the two or three unseen players would get in fights LOL. thanks for putting this back in my head, your vids are really nice and you have a outlook on "bad" games being a great fun source for a game night w friends or unique ways to experience games you love, looking forward to more vids

what my big happenstance splitscreen multiplayer shooter was as a kid was medal of honor: rising sun on ps2, some absolutely great maps with a lot of fun layouts i remember by heart and surprisingly good atmosphere, and a bunch of fun weapons to use. i recommend just walking around in them alone and enjoying the low-poly scenery along with the unique soundtracks and ambience every map has if that's something that interests you. i don't think i ever even played the campaign past the first few levels!

My off beat multiplayer favorites: snowboard kids 2, cruis'n world, bomberman 64, phantasy star online gcn, shining soul 2, unreal championship xbox, brute force, XIII I only briefly touched the red steel singleplayer to sample the controls. I was really into the call of duty games up until MW2 and even more into team fortress 2 at this time.

played with some of friends a good bit, but the jank always got us really frustrated as kids. we'd literally go back to star fox on 64
