I think this might be the best footage of Bob that exists. He is so *on* here.

With a largely full-functioning Bob, they were almost understated in just being straight-ahead rock'n'roll. In '84 they were perhaps as good as they would ever be. Perhaps as good as any rock band could ever be. Thanks for posting this.

I am not so much into their live performances (I guess it bothers me I can't hear Paul's voice or the sound is murky but no one else?) but no band was had better studio records.

There's footage of their first live gig (or a very early one, if not THE first) @ First Ave./7th Street Entry from back in 1980 floating around here in YT-land, and the sound is much better than this one's is (especially Paul's vocals)

One thing that most great bands have is a tight drummer, The Replacements were no exception.

Well it's cheesy I know but color me impressed; this vid is sacred in a sense. Rare footage with great close ups of what's goin on on the guitar. They could've given Tommy a little

Wow! Great footage! How old was Tommy in this? 16? Great to see Bob kick out the jams. Sounds like they were having a good night. Wonder what it was like being a teenager and being in this band... Could mess someone up, but thank God, Tommy made it!

I was a teenager, and I heard them on college radio a lot. Loved them. They played a club near my house a couple dozen times over the years but it was always 21 and over shows. By the time I was legal at the beginning of the 90's, the club turned into a jazz/rap/dance club and then closed up for good. It kills me all the legendary bands that played in that place, and the only nights I could get in was the stupid all-ages dj nights.

Peavey Bandit 65 combos, Looks like they removed the speaker, theyre setting on what looks like Ampeg or Univox 412 cabs, best transistor amp Peavey made, Im sure it was done as an anti Marshal rockstar thing, I own one and they def get the early Replacements punk sound

It looks that way. The camera angles seem right. It looks like the era between let it be and Tim and it would make sense they'd record some promo footage at 1st ave. I'm surprised we've not seen more of it.
