I grew up with a preacher for a father. Hard core evangelical parents, “ gospel meeting” in a tent for weeks of condemning and fearmongering hell fire and brimstone preachers hanging off pulpits and yelling and pointing fingers at me sitting in the front row as a little boy, scared crap less, one of the series of books they studied and taught from was “ What the Bible teaches “ . I think you should do a counter series called “ What the Bible actually teaches” . We’ll done once again brother, you certainly are a light in the perverted and twisted lies I’ve been taught and more then just a healing to the scars on my body that were left physically, due to “ spare the rod, spoil the child” , you are helping to heal my soul. Love you dude, real talk.

This is making a lot of sense, Shade. Thank you for pointing this out. I am thinking about future here. Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement. Since Revelation is in our past, do we continue loving, serving, sharing the gospel, taking care of orphans and widows etc. until we die, then each of us has our own judgment with our maker? It’s not a world wide event, but personal 🤔. I’m pondering this one.

I really like it when you talk about how things in the bible are "typically" interpreted through main stream Christianity and then delve into what the scriptures ACTUALLY say and your interpretation of it & how it differs from the common belief. TEMPLE, TEXAS . . . This lesson was deep, especially for those of us who have been taught incorrectly. For instance, i have been confused at times about understanding "the dead," because there is the physically dead, but saved or lost, and the spiritually dead lost and then the 2nd death those who die spiritually for eternity. This subject might be the most complicated subject in scripture. "Dead" like the word "fine" can mean different things. For example, we can get a traffic fine or like saying her hair is fine. Context is KING. If we find the definition of the word in its context then we know prefectly its meaning. Here we find the context for the "the rest of the dead," in different books of the Bible and then understand the context of Rev 20, and then understand the definition "the rest of the dead." Of course, I have never seen this application, interpretation, or rendering before. LOL like rendering the soluble fat liquid from the solid fat . . . rendering. 😅 I am going to listen to this again to let it sink in and marinate, lol. 😅 This is a very important topic ! ! To correctly interpret Rev 20 all of the questions about the obscure need to fit like a puzzle. Rev 20 is almost like putting 1,000 (pun intended) pieces together WITHOUT the picture to kinda go by. You have definitely got the corner and side pieces together as well as the centerpieces. Now apply in a video the entire Rev 20 section as a unit to the 1st century church. What did this section mean to them? They knew there was a coming apocalypse, a judgement, and that they would be ALIVE to see it, "the rest of the dead." WOW!!! . . . mind FRIED after being rendered. 😅

This is an awesome (and entertaining) commentary! Is it your opinion, then, that the thousand years of Revelation 20 is referring specifically to Jesus' ministry, death, and resurrection? Was the resurrection when it ended, or do you think it continued until the destruction of the temple in 70AD?
@ShadeStoneMusic
3 ай бұрын
Great Question Sister! My take is that the 1000 years is 'up and until the earthly ministry of Christ'...let's say up until 30AD-ish, when Jesus died on the cross & resurrected. The 'rest of the dead' that 'came alive' are those that came to Christ from 30Ad-ish to 70AD 'after the resurrection of Christ. Basically when the First Century Apostles took over preaching the Gospel to people who didn't come to Christ yet...but from the Feast of Pentecost until the destruction of the temple, the 'rest of the dead' came alive in the 'most important/primary/chief/first resurrection. An example of the 'rest of the dead' are those 3000 souls at the feast of pentecost. They didn't believe in Christ until 'after' the resurrection; 'after' the 1000 years were finished. Hope this helps!

It is a bit different than many...But I see the 'dead' group (in verses 4-6) as those that came 'alive' as people who lived for God and His Christ rather than themselves. I don't see verses 4-6 as a resurrection from the literal grave. I see the literal grave resurrection in the Great White Throne Judgment in verses 11 to 13. Hey Shade I’m loving your teachings. I’m a bit confused about a few points however. I thought it was pretty clear that the mark of the beast was related to Nero’s reign as Caesar in the late 60’s which is clearly after Christ’s resurrection. Also, in one video you seemed to say that there was a resurrection of (physically) dead people after Jesus was resurrected (albeit maybe around 70ad). But then in another one you suggest that there was only one resurrection and that was spiritual when people followed Christ. Also, I’m curious why you don’t talk about the life changing experience of receiving the Holy Spirit which enabled them and enables us to live much more like Christ and to do what He asked us to do using the gifts and bearing the fruits that come with the Spirit. Jesus said He had to go to the Father so He could send the Spirit down to indwell them (and their children and all who are afar off). Gd bless you brother. I will continue to listen to your gracious teachings.

Hello Sister! Thank You for the kind words. That resurrection that is in Matthew 27 I believe was a Spiritual resurrection. The Scriptures say 'they were seen my many'...notice it doesn't say 'all'; Much like Jesus was seen my 'many' after His resurrection. But He was not seen by everyone. Another example is the 'transfiguration'. In that vision, only a few disciples were witness to that. I believe that resurrection in Matthew 27 was a glimpse into what was happening in the spiritual realm, and that is why it was only witnessed by some people. Hope this clears some things up!
@jennycurtis9855

So to clarify my other question above…I had understood the souls spoken of in Rev 20:4 to be those believers who were experiencing the terrible persecution in Nero’s time as he is attributed to being the beast. This verse says they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Then verse 5 says but the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. This puts both groups of people well post Christ’s resurrection. I’m presuming John’s switching of tenses throughout Rev has no bearing on timing of the events but more to do with his receiving the visions. This chapter certainly is difficult! You are absolutely right about that!

@@jennycurtis9855 ...Oh Yes...this is a tuffy to say the least! That's one of the reasons I don't slam my fists. I know I could be wrong. That said, I think that is true for anyone trying to discern this text. I'm not sure if You seen my video called: 'the first resurrection requires the first death'. That may help grasp what I am presenting. Also, another video that may help is 'The First Resurrection Controversy'. My suggestion is that the 'first resurrection' is not 'physically dead people coming to life'...rather, the writer may be speaking to people 'coming alive' by following Christ. Much like the Prodigal son that was 'dead' when he was living riotously, but then became 'alive' when he repented. Paul often talks about them becoming 'new creations in Christ' as if they were 'raised from the dead'. That is talking about a 'born again' type of resurrection rather than a physically dead person coming to life. Something to consider.

Thank You for the kind words and welcome to the Channel! I have heard this perspective, and it is duly noted... It appears to me though that Paul writes in Romans 7:9 - For I was 'alive' without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I 'died'. In this section, I take the position that Paul is saying He was 'alive' in some way other than physical...until...'the law came to him'...then that knowledge of sin, caused him to 'die'...this is in my opinion, is clearly a 'different kind of death'. It can't be physical... So Paul was 'alive'...then the law came and 'he died'...then Christ came and he was 'raised to life again'. As for the binding...I put that at the temptation of the mount; As for the loosing...I put that at the time of Judas' betrayal. I have a video on it called 'Satan Bound and Loosed'. That said...I can't slam my fists...it is a tough chapter indeed!

Thank You for the excellent question! I would say that is what both Paul & John say. Allow me to give you two witnesses/scriptures to consider: 1st Timothy 4:10 - God is the Savior of 'all people'; especially those that believe. (That was Paul); 1st John 2:2 - He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (That was John); So it appears to me those passages both point to God reconciling the entire world to Himself...No exceptions. God did that; not the believers... So Paul in 1st Timothy is pointing to 'belief' being 'beneficial' and 'profitable'. As for grace and salvation, that glory belongs entirely to God in what God accomplished for mankind through His Son Christ Jesus.

Thank You for the great question! Allow me to offer this: In Revelation 17 it says that 5 of the 7 kings (heads on the sea beast) are already dead...therefore those kings that were already dead, had died in 'the past'. Also, in Revelation 5, we see Jesus looking like a 'Lamb that was slain'...that is a depiction of Christ at the Cross...that is also in 'the past' for the writer of Revelation. Also, in Revelation 12, the 'child' that the dragon is trying to devour appears to be referring to Herod when the birth of Jesus occurred, tried to take out the Messiah by harming all the young ones...which also, was in 'the past'. And finally... Revelation 1:19 says: Write therefore the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this... I believe you are correct bro in pointing out that there's a spiritual death as well as physical. However revelation 20 is not talking about spiritual death. My first point, and I've mentioned this on prior occasions, is that verse 5 is a spurious interpolation not found in the earliest, most reliable manuscripts. But for argument's sake, let's just say that verse 5 is authentic. The text reads "But the rest of the dead lived not AGAIN till the thousand years were finished." It's an impossibility that this is referring to spiritual death. Why? Because one that is spiritually dead was never spiritually alive in the first place. So how can they live spiritually AGAIN after the thousand years if they never experienced spiritual life to begin with? It's impossible plus it makes no sense. It's talking about the martyrs who physically lost their lives and were resurrected to reign with Christ for the thousand years which began at the end of the old covenant age. Peace.

I see what You are saying...And that is duly noted. However, Paul seems to say that he was alive until 'the law came'...He says this in Romans 7:9 - 'For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died'. Paul here is clearly talking about some kind of covenantal or spiritual death because the 'commandment came' and then 'he died'...clearly not physical. Yet Paul says He was 'alive once before the law came'. So if I take this and apply it...Paul was alive once (spiritually)...then died because of the law (spiritually); then came alive in Christ 'again' (spiritually). So I think it is still possible that verse 5 is talking about spiritually dead. I can't guarantee it of course. But I do think it is still possible. Thanks Bro!

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:” Colossians 1:18-22 KJV “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.” Colossians 2:16-19 KJV “but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:15-16 KJV We must remember the Bible speaks of many events figuratively the word of God is spirit and is best understood spiritually yet that does not negate the fact that certain things happened quite literally just not as we understand in the flesh.

I think we need to be very careful in how we interpret physical and spiritual death. They are not the same. However if it weren't for the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood sacrifice, then all of us would remain spiritually dead until our physical deaths and at that point we would perish and be non existant for eternity. Because the wages of sin is death and that means both spiritual and physical. Remember, when Adam died spiritually when he disobeyed, he eventually died physicality and had no conscious existence. It's like he never was. But the Son of God changed all that so that all of us in Adam, him included could be raised to life. Revelation 20 talks about physically dead martyrs being raised to life in an incorruptible body and then reigning with the Son. It has nothing to do with spiritually dead people attaining spiritual life. They already had that prior to being martyred. Peace.

I have a question not really related to this video. If Adam is the first Covenant man and is not everyone’s ancestor then everyone wasn’t or isn’t “dead”. Only those who were “in Adam” died. Right? That status of being “in Adam” ceased in 70 AD, right? In juxtaposition to only some people being “in Adam”, EVERY HUMAN is in Christ who ever existed and who will exist because in Him all things were created that were created whether visible or invisible etc. Right? Thanks to The Lord Jesus I was never “in Adam” and thus never “dead”. Right?

I didn't mean to start a new thread but I responded to your question in the above thread that I didn't mean to start. Here's something to consider. The proponents of the pre-adamite theory of a different strain of humans created thousands of years prior to Adam implies that these people lived and died throughout their generations before the creation of Adam. If so, why did they die? Did they sin? Did God create a bunch of depraved animal huminoids that needed to be subdued by the Adamic race? Which they failed at miserably causing the Adamic race to devolve into the godless beasts that they did leading up to the flood and beyond? I don't think so. This teaching has lead to the formation of groups like the christian identity movement which produced a bunch of white supremacist racists and bigots that see themselves as God's chosen by reason of their race. God created the races. He loves all of them. They came from Adam. I don't care what "science" says. The bible calls it "science so called." Science must agree with scripture not the other way around. We are all dead spiritually because of Adam. In Adam all die. In Christ all are made alive. So, you are of Adam's race cuz that's the only human race that God created. All of the different skin colors and different features are from Adam. Race and ethnicity in the new covenant arrangement mean nothing. What means everything is the new creation in Christ. Peace.

I think You are bringing some great questions to the table! There is much to cautiously dig into here on this topic...but for the sake of argument...If 'death' reigned from Adam to Moses as it says in Romans...well, then death can't reign anymore, because we are will beyond Moses. Therefore, one could argue we are born 'alive' and never 'die'. That sounds like 'Good News' to me. Something to consider.

@@ShadeStoneMusic Thank you yet again!! This thought of never being dead due to the curse of the Law being defeated by Jesus’s Triumph, sheds more light on my past. I felt incredible closeness and desire for God as a young child. I would paint pictures of me in His lap, dance in my bedroom as worship while listening to the only Christian vinyl record my parents owned, Dallas Holm “Rise Again” (how ironic! That’s just hitting me right now! lol). I would read the Psalm about walking pleasingly before God in my house and setting no evil thing before my eyes. I loved God. But as I grew, my young parents were growing too and we were all exposed to LAW LAW LAW LAW and hellfire and fear. So when I got older and more independent I began to break the law as we all do and the guilt and fear set in hard. I began to think less and less of the deity who was just waiting on the chance to smite me. I even married a preacher’s son after 3 months of meeting him because we slept together and I wanted to make myself less sinful. We divorced after having two children. I was then diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that caused pain and was prescribed excessive amounts of narcotics. I soon became a full on drug addict and eventually turned to street drugs in my anger against Law God who hated me. I would recommit to Him every few years and try to white knuckle my way into His favor again but nothing worked. Until 2015 when The True and Living God began to pursue me!! As He did Adam and Eve in the Garden, He called to me “Where are you?” That was October of 2015 and He has faithfully held me in His embrace to this day in total freedom from drugs and shame. I had a lot of un-learning to do in my beliefs about Him but I was so angry at the false god I had created through false teaching that when He revealed Himself to me it was easy to let go of those false beliefs. I was hurt badly by church people during those years of intense struggle with drugs so I did not want to bring any of their beliefs to the relationship. It made it easy to start at scratch and say “Ok what is True about God? I will accept anything!” I am now free of that anger I use to hold against church people because I can see how dominant false teaching is and how it confuses people and makes it far too difficult to get to God. We don’t have to get to Him. He came to us!!! How beautiful!!! Thank you brother for your incredible teaching ministry!!!

Rev 20 is about Martyrs who came to life. Those who Paul said were those who died in Christ. They would be raised first. Then those who are left are who alive would follow. 2 Corinth doesn't say what you're trying to make it say.

You are correct. That's exactly what rev 20 is about- the martyrs who died physically (murdered) and were raised to an immortal body and began the thousand year reign with Jesus. Peace.

Fair enough. Thank You for sharing. As for 2nd Corinthians, I have no other interpretation for 'if one died for all...then all were dead'. So at this point, I don't see an error on my part in how I was using that Scripture. It's not physical death that he is speaking of there. Thanks again for sharing Your point of view!

@@mjack3521 ...Thank You for sharing; so following your point...just two verses down Paul writes: 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.' If that is the 'first resurrection'...then it isn't the kind where people spiritually or physically come out of the graves. He is talking about becoming a 'new creature' before dying physically. So in my opinion, this favors my interpretation, which is that the first resurrection involves those who came alive in Christ before they died physically. Tough Chapter though! Thank You again for sharing!

@@ShadeStoneMusic Christ has judged those who were in Sheol. Death and Hades are no longer active. Those who are alive in Christ now (and then) bypass Sheol. They never die (spiritually) The Death that separated man from God has been taken out of the way. The doors to the City are open 24/7. We are no longer slaves. Question: Why do you say that Adam is not everyone's ancestor? Are you saying that non adamites have different ancestors? If so, where in scripture do you find this teaching? Is Adam the head of a separate race than other humans? Do the other races have a head not related to Adam? If not all living sprung from Adam and Eve, then why did Adam declare to Eve that she was to be the mother of all living? I am aware of the teaching that says that God created a number of different races before Adam was created. They're called pre-adamites. They say that these pre-adamites were created thousands of years before Adam. There's one big problem with this view. The bible says absolutely nothing about such a pre-adamite creation. I submit to you that all the different races sprung from Adam. From one man God created all of the nations on the earth. That's the scriptural testimony. Sin and death entered the world through Adam. That's why a 2nd Adam, the Lord Jesus Christ came...to reverse the results of the transgression of the 1st Adam. Peace.
