Shane. Love your videos. I am coming to Aspen next week and was considering buying a board this year and getting off the rental train. I am very intermediate and want an all mountain option for an older guy who wants to keep up with his kids. I have no interest in park, big jumps or anything overly aggressive..just speed, stability, and some carving. I am 6'4", 212, and size 12 boot. I looked on your website and many of your options are sold out. This one interests me due to the short wide thing. Anything you can recommend that you may have in stock? I plan to come in next week. Oh, if it matters, my worst falls have occurred on flat, narrow, icy conditions so anything that would inspire some confidence there would be great.

Awesome to hear that Brian and thanks for the support! One thing to keep in mind is that we have two locations in Aspen. One thing that is funky with our website is that it only pulls inventory from one location, so the website doesn't necessarily reflect all of our stock. When you get to town we will definitely get you dialed on a board that you will love whether it's the Warpig or something similar. If you would like me to help you, I work Thursdays - Sundays otherwise anyone else will be able to get you all set.

My guy, Ive watched like 5 videos now of your and wish I would've seen them two months ago before I bought my warpig. I went to my pro shop and they only had a small and a XL warpig which made me a little skeptical to buy knowing you are suppose to ride shorter. I am 6'2" 195lbs and they ensured me I'd be fine on the XL, and I guess I was... It was my first board but I feel like after watching your videos and reading the comments I should've waited and got the L. I say this because when you mention you want shorter for easier ground ticks it made a lightbulb go off. I cant do consistent 360's on the ground with out gettign hella snow on my board or catching edge. SO, I want to sell my XL but recently ive discovered I would be into spiltboarding DUE TO MY BACKPACKING BACKGROUND, and I was wondering if it would be smart to just sell my warpig XL and get the spiltpig L (154) and it be my all mountain and touring board or does it make more sense to have a spiltboard and a all mountain board?
@SearchofSnowboarding
3 жыл бұрын
Awesome to hear dude and glad it helped! With your size you really could have done either of those two sizes, but it sounds like you might have been slightly better off on the Large. I typically sell the XL to dudes who are on the +200lb size. As far as splitboards go I would really suggest against having a splitboard that you use for lift access for resort riding. Splitboards are great but they don't have the torsional rigidity that a solid board has, and split bindings aren't as comfortable as regular bindings to be riding all day. When you're splitting, the majority of your time is climbing up, and you're really only maybe taking one run down. Solid boards have a much better ride so it's best to have a split for touring and a solid for resort/lift access. Cheer, and great to meet ya!

@@erikton8564 it’s great, super smooth and has a good enough flex that you can get some good air and get a nice butter going. Tho it took some adjustment getting used to the width cause the edge on the tail end of the board has a habit of catching when initiating turns if you treat it like a normal width board. Another adjustment was training myself not to try and stitch on it cause it’s heavily directional. The Ride website says u can switch on it but it’s significantly harder to pull off than they make it seem, so it’s best to stick to staying nose first unless ur experienced and skilled enough to overcome the fact the board wasn’t designed to be ridden tail first despite what the site says.

@@SearchofSnowboarding I have Kessler Ride 168. I'm 59, 5'7, 170lbs, fit. Should I get a small or a medium?

You'd like the medium better because you are used to being on a longer snowboard

sooo?..Warpig or Orca...?

Tough call, depends on what kind of ride you are looking for. Orca will feel a little more surfy because of the short rocker section in the middle of the board and the warpig will feel a little more stable because of its flat profile

I'm an old school all mountain natural hits kinda guy,and always pretty fast..so i actually decided on the EJack Knife,seems like it's an "if it ain't broke,don't fix it" type of a board,the board hasn't really change over the last few years,that's a good sign...and the graphics..come on!..killer.

Great review! I’d be curious to get your thoughts on the new Salomon Dancehaul and how it compares to the Warpig.

Yeah, I really want to ride the dancehaul and see what it rides like. I think I would like it a lot because it has Salomon's Rock Out Camber profile, one of my favorites
