The best review of my city, I have ever seen! You truly seem to know what you are talking about! 👌👌👌also worth mentioning, the Riga Central Market main structures are five pavilions constructed by reusing old German Zeppelin hangars, hence the looks of these hangars. :) all the best in your future travels!

Thank you so much 🙂 I'm truly glad I was able to capture the spirit of Riga accurately. Also, interesting note on the old hangars! That would also explain why they're so massive

As a Brit who moved to Riga, I tell friends and family it is a cracking place to live. Well... except for winter time when the days are short and the ice and slush can be annoying. The summers tho' are fantastic with the long days and reasonable heat - unlike the searing oven you get in southern Europe.

Dear Micheal, I wanted to thank you for your work. It’s my first time coming across a travel vlogger that has approached travelling like this in particular the descriptions of the 5 senses and the peaceful ambience. You are awesome!! This video was very useful as I’m moving to Riga next week to study - take care :)

Oh yes! I love watching foreigners checking out Riga. They all have their own differences. But tgey mostly fall flat on same. Old Riga being great mostly skipping everything else. And oh there is also big bazzar. You fusing in scences made this so much better as people said. I felt as I was there. Especially for someone who has been there and knows those smeels, feels, sounds. Oh the old city so mousty being bound in shadows of each another and all underground places! I loved them sad didnt see much of them here. There are a pot of bars but pizzerias and other kind of fun exsists. All kind of clubs that sometimes you can just walk in. But yeah great video.

Beautiful video, I am planning next month to visit Riga and Tallinn, what you suggest where to spend more time ? 1 day in Riga and 2 days in Tallinn or 2 days in Riga and 1 day in Tallinn ?
@asenseoftravel
2 ай бұрын
I would personally do 2 in Riga, 1 in Tallinn. Tallinn is wonderful but very compact, and if you're limited on time, you'll get the best "bang for your buck" in one day there! You could spend your morning at St. Olaf's church/bell tower, perhaps the Old Town Hall, and grabbing some delicious Kama Cakes, have lunch up on Toompea Hill and walk the old city walls/visit Nevsky Cathedral, have a classic dinner at Olde Hansa, and spend your evening shopping through the old medieval passageways. The perfect day in old Tallinn! Riga is a bit more spread out and has a ton of unique layers to explore (as I'm sure you noticed in the video!)

I was going to skip this video - but like other - I have to give people the benefit of the doubt. I have watched quite and few and found them to be repetive with the same sites and same stories - In saying that, this is the first video that thought outside the box and viewed the city differently. The center was well presented! Unfortunate that the 4.8 k view did not bother to give you "thumbs up" No other video compares!

Balsam is not a liqueur, do you really not know what balsam is? Balms are a separate group of drinks. Just like whiskey, just like cognac, liqueurs, wines and gin. In this case Riga Black Balm.

You feel good with your making your point? Give yourself a pat on the back! Get over that he called Riga Black Balm a liqueur - some may see it that way - what tourist has googled the drink to see what ingredients it's made from. We viewers get the point. If you want to educate people, do it in a kind way, not in the manner presented - be better, have drink and calm down!
