You two beautiful young ladies had the same look that I saw in the 1960s from EVERY young girl when the late great Bobby Hatfield sang this song. I'm 71 now and I honestly feel that this was the greatest love song ever. And if you don't take my word as gospel, just ask some of the grandmothers my age - they all MELTED when Bobby sang this classic

21 notes on this scale alone. Bobby's counter-tenor voice was nothing short of amazing. He could from baritone to G5, and 3 to 4 octaves. The righteous Brothers were not a "band." They were a duo. The best ever. We miss you, Bobby. August 10, 1940-November 5 2003.

There was a "band". It was Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. The Wall of Sound (also called the Spector Sound) is a music production formula developed by American record producer Phil Spector at Gold Star Studios, in the 1960s, with assistance from engineer Larry Levine and the conglomerate of session musicians later known as " the Wrecking Crew ".

1965. A TV show with live audience. One man, one microphone. No studio tricks, just a perfect performance from a prodigious talent at the top of his game. You will not hear better. His parents were in the audience, and that little lip-bite and nod at the end suggests he knew he had nailed it. Others have done this song, before and after, but Bobby Hatfield OWNS it.

The 'Righteous Sisters' tune in to yet another righteous, timeless classic. This song had been a minor hit for various artists until the magnificent soul tenor of Bobby Hatfield redefined it in 1966 for a no.1 hit. His 'stage brother' Bikk Medley, was an equally talented baritone. The smiles say it all, Nice change of pace, girls..

Great reaction to such a classic! I was probably a little boy playing with toys on the living room carpet while my grandparents watch that on the TV...lol... He has a brother, not sure if a real brother or a figurative one (they look nothing alike!), that siings the lower tones...nearly as dynamic as this one on the high end... Try, "you've lost that loving feeling" from them to see what i mean by that...:) Namaste!

I bet Bobby's singing coach said to him (when he did a final version of the song) 'If you sing like that, on the Andy Williams Show - I guarantee you, people will be raving about this, for years', and he would be right. Here we are, 57 years later, and it is still, by far, the best version ever sung. A lot of the reactions we've seen (on youtube), are of people watching it for the first time, and giving us their opinions about it - but if you want a real professional, who gives a detailed analysis of Bobby's singing, then go to kzitem.info/news/bejne/w6WO0XVvgGeBf2k called 'British guitarist analyses the Righteous Brothers live in 1965'. He will even describe the musical notes Bobby sang, when he performed this stunning rendition - no auto-tune required at all!
@staceyhofman239

Your comment reminds me of a story that I heard Bill Medley tell. He has such great stories of The Righteous Brothers and the 'old days'.......anyway, the story goes that Bobby did the studio version of Unchained Melody in only two takes. After the second take, Bobby said to Bill, "I can do it better"......and Bill replied, "No, you can't"........LOL. But clearly he was mistaken, since Bobby nailed this live performance, which outdoes even the studio version that you hear on the record. The man's voice was simply amazing. And as far as their collaboration goes (The Righteous Brothers), Bill and Bobby both have fantastic voices individually, but when you put them together they are phenomenal. It's pure magic. I'm so glad that You Tube is introducing younger generations to their music, and all the great music from the 1960's. Namaste, girls.

Ok ladies , a reaction well done !! You`re both charming , so much fun to watch ! You`re both animated , with such beautiful smiles . Of course you`re reacting to a beautiful song sung by BOBBY HATFIELD , a performer who posses an outstanding voice and singing style . Usually paired up with BILL MEDLEY [ THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS ] he nails this one solo !! I know you`re both working hard to continually improve your pronunciation of some ENGLISH words , certainly not an easy task ! Please note , you`re both making great progress - lots of people here in the states have some difficulty .As an example , i was born and raised in the south [ NORTH CAROLINA ] i later moved north [PENNSYLVANIA ] , PA . DUTCH population , It took me quite a long time before i could understand them , as well , they couldn`t understand me .! Best wishes !!!
