After the new trailer of Amazon's "The Rings of Power", I decided to make my own one with actual footage of "The Lord of the Rings" from Peter Jackson!
My opinion about the new trailer for Amazon's "The Rings of Power". First of all, I did not experience that excitement feeling I had back then when I watched the trailer for "The Hobbit" in 2012. That's clearly a sign that something is missing. I did for sure enjoy some parts, since it actually looked like from a movie made by Peter Jackson. But on the other hand, it felt like Narnia or some other fantasy movie. The visuals are beautiful, actors are probably going to do a great job, despite some of their characters not fitting in some contexts. Worst problem will be how they treat the plot and the story. I have heard that Galadriel will be a warrior, something she never was, or their attempt to tell different stories from different periods at the same time and in the same timeline, or something like that, which will be confusing. Therefore, my advice is to just stop comparing it with lord of the rings or the world Tolkien created, and maybe then we will be able to enjoy this show, despite how difficult it could be to us to get use to it without constantly making conections with the movies or the books. At the same time I wouldn't like to despise the great job from part of the visual team, the actors or whoever. (I ask people that comment to be respectful. You can give your opinion and give your discontent with the series, but always with respect, even towards the actors).
@MichaelHill-we7vt

While I appreciate your request for our comments to be respectful, I feel like asking "why should we show respect?" Before it's release we're getting suggestions to stop comparing it to Lord of The Rings, or the world Tolkien created........what does THAT tell you about what this is going to be, if we have to ignore the actual work it's adapted from or purports to be? The only obvious inference is that it will bear little or no resemblance to the actual works of J R R Tolkien..........they've just bought the rights to the title in order to hoodwink the audience into thinking its going to be something it clearly isnt......The makers and writers of this impending garbage fest are not being respectful to either the original source material OR the genuine fans and lovers of the works of J R R Tolkien who have taken umbrage at the bastardisation of the greatest work of fiction ever written............Yes, I am sure it will look beautiful, as well it should, given the budget for it........but it's not Tolkien, is it? it's now just the plaything of a very rich man, who has more money than respect for Professor Tolkien, and it has been written by a couple of non-achieving hacks who in 13 years of collaboration have produced nothing of any consequence but who have the arrogance to consider they've written "the novel Tolkien never wrote".........damn right it's something Tolkien never wrote, he wouldnt have lent his name to this at the point of a gun..........

When the first priority is to grow your numbers in the bank best you can achieve is a TV show with great CGI. I agree the bar was set high long ago but how Amazon is dealing with this is just ridiculous.

They hired people with passion and master craftsmanship. Many of the locations are real miniatures crafted to tiny details with camera tricks and minor supplemental CGI to achieve photorealism. They weren't obsessed with virtue signalling and political sensibilities and instead wanted to make a good movie(s) that was honest to Tolkien's vision. It is a timeless story about defeating the evil. Rings of Power is taking Tolkien's world and perverting it with modern politics. It is no longer his work, it's just a brand owned by Amazon. They even fired Tolkien expert and then did an IGN piece with another guy to lie about the authenticity of Rings of Power.

Something about the whole construction of the Rings of power trailer was just, off... It felt more like Star Wars or Marvel than LOTR. Glad to see that there are ppl out there who understand what TLOR is about. Imo the Cast of the Series dont fit... I dont want to sound racist but why would you cast a black actor as an Elf... in Lore Elves are Blond/Brown haired with Pale Skin and and Hairs (Exept for Elrond which IS blond in the series for some reason and looks more like young Legolas, but thats whats makes him special as an half elf half human) so imo its kind of disrespectfull against Tolkien and what he created its more of quatioa think to include that. And now before you say im racist or sexist and anything like that hear me out. You remember the Haradrim leader in TLOR Pt. 3 Return of the King. Lets just imagine Huge Weaving never played Elrond but played him... would that sound funny to you? If it does you already got my point. A Actor shouldnt be devided in Skincolor or Sex but the (in-Movie) Character defenetly should. And the fact Durin the 4th and Gil Galad look spot on in the Trailer and the Pictures show that Amazon IS indeed pretty much aware of what the Characters should look like and that they only try to fill the Quotia of black/female actors so that the Series is attractive to the wide audience instead of making the series satisfy the real TLOR fans. I was so hyped when i heard that there is a Series about one of my favourite movie franchise coming, with such a big budget even, but now, im no longer so sure. I just hope the Story is great so that i can oversee the weird cast. Also please excuse my horrible English lol. Im from Germany haha...
