I was a bit late to the MCU because, with the exception of Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, I missed Phase One in theatres, watching Iron Man on DVD in the fall of 2008 with a classmate of mine from college (the Canadian definition of college, not the American term for university), and watching The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger digitally after seeing The Avengers the same night I saw The Amazing Spider-Man. At the time my best friend and I would go see the next Marvel movie in theatres. The thing is is that I didn't grow up with Marvel outside of Spider-Man (I didn't watch the other Marvel cartoons of the '90s), and so none of these characters were familiar to me, but I liked their MCU versions enough to keep going with the movies. But I was done by the time Spider-Man: Far From Home came out in 2019, after Endgame. Yet Disney+ gave me the opportunity to at least try the shows out. I personally didn't care for WandaVision or Loki, and Moon Knight didn't grab my attention either. But I loved The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk. The pandemic was my indicator that it was time for me to bow out of the MCU. As for what's coming up, there really isn't anything that I have a vested interest in since I'm not a fan of Deadpool, I think it's time to move beyond the original X-Men franchise, and the mess Fox made with it, and I'm skeptical at the third attempt at starting a Fantastic Four franchise in 20 years. The only MCU movie that I could be convinced to see, especially if my best friend was available to see it with me, is Captain America: Brave New World, because I loved The Falcon and the Winter Soldier so much. The shows are a different story though, as I can't afford Disney+ anymore so I don't have access to the shows as a result. That, and the ones that interested me the most are over and there doesn't seem to be anything in Phase Six.

That's totally fair! It's fascinating to learn other people's experience with the MCU, yet it still seems we decided to bow out around the same time. I'm still holding out some hope that the team at Marvel Studios will remember how fun these movies used to be!

@@ThePeakofGeek I mean Endgame/Far From Home was the end of an era for the MCU since the storyline that had been built up since Iron Man came out in 2008 was ending, and, like with comic books themselves, the end of a storyline is the best place to walk away from a franchise. Plus, knowing ahead of time what characters were getting movies, and who was getting their own shows, I knew I wasn't going to be as invested in what was coming up as I was in what had come before.

I feel like they were hoping we would happily start over with a new crew of unknown supes but it got to big for its own good. Too hard to start over when weve been invested in several massive story lines. I think they just need to slow down the releases and focus on story telling instead of pumping out cash grabs

after Endgame, they have failed to build toward another big event, all the films in the Infinity Saga felt like they are were building toward something even the bad ones, I also think comic book movies have just lost their luster add on top the insane ballooning budgets of most superhero movies
